    Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup problems

Its the power of Dyson's clever marketing - he has had a very powerful influence on people's opinions about bagged vacs. You could say that he has "brainwashed" them like a clever hypnotist.

    Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup problems

Does that Windtunnel have the changeover valve like on my Vax Mach 9 pictured below - they look very similar styled machines. (Yes, I know, its a Dyson - even I own a few of them)

    Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup problems

A Dyson is no better quality than the average TTI machine - they are both mass produced in the Far East, but Dyson has the cheek to think his machines are worth 3 times the value of  the average TTI machine. TTI might produce budget machines, but they do have the decency to charge budget prices.

    Broken Dyson DC24

After all - every new machine from Dyson has to be packed with "technology" and be the subject of lots of "R&D" and that's all Dyson is bothered about. People love "technology" and are prepared to pay hundreds of pounds more for the latest of it. Dyson is laughing all the way to the bank - at...

"Kirby will just be a name on Chinese clone vacuums"

I was quite shocked when I saw this on a pack of HEPA bags I bought too - Kirby charging so much for these bags £25 a pack in the UK on average, and then making them in China! The older style paper bags still had made in USA on them

Well a Riccar is crossing the Atlantic :-)

In the good old days, they were made in the USA with American materials:

Well a Riccar is crossing the Atlantic :-)

They say something similar on Kirby bags, but in reverse - made in China with American Materials. So they ship the "American materials" out to China, make the bags there, then ship them back to the USA and still charge a fortune for them.

    Broken Dyson DC24

Seeing as you have a Sebo Felix - why not just use this? or one of the other Dysons you say you have in your profile? [this post was last edited: 5/23/2014-09:25]

Problem for upgraded members - Editing function The picture posting is not working for me now on other threads. If I try to edit a previous post and then include a picture, it goes through the process, but when you hit "post this to vacuumland", it loses the picture and posts with no picture...

    Broken Dyson DC24

Well, if you have allergies - a bagless is not ideal anyway. What I'd recommend is a SEBO Felix to replace your DC24 - it may be a bit heavier, but its a very nimble twin motored machine, and at £230 ish, its very competitively priced. 1 pack of bags is about a tenner, and will last months -...

"engineer" lol - makes me laugh. Wont be long before they send you a box to pack it in to be sent off to Malmesbury for repair at their leisure.

    Quitest Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaners...

I only used it once - its now back in its box in the loft. I'll be keeping it in long term storage, but not using it. I prefer to use a bagged machine for daily use.

    Quitest Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaners...

Don't forget, the Zen has one speed - maximum at all times, so its effective at filtering the dirt. The Bosch has variable power to make it quieter, but has an old fashioned cone filter system which clogs quickly, so the Zen is a better machine, even though it is made in China.

Braun small appliances making UK comeback

I currently have 3 Philips shavers - an HQ8894 from 2004, a HQ8270 from 2009 and a Powertouch PT920 from 2013 - all made in Holland. I wouldn't touch a Braun if they are all made in China now.

Braun small appliances making UK comeback

If you get a Philips shaver, most of them are still made in Holland. I don't know if Philips make anything in China?
