Opinions on building a pristine Dyson DC01 to store?

CitroenBX, nice machine! I have some books somewhere too. OK, I'm convinced - we'll build one and hoard it. In hindsight, I probably should...

Opinions on building a pristine Dyson DC01 to store?

Whilst clearing out in the depths of our shop today, we came across a Ametek DC01 motor new in the box I forgot we had (for those who don't know, these are impossible to get now). Initially, we put it on our news section and social media in order it may find an enthusiast out there. ...

    Heavily abused Dysons

We service Dysons for several local churches, most run older models such as the DC01 and DC04. Most have had them for years, but we havent seen the soleplates wear like Matt shows. I guess it depends how much stone they use it on.

Robot vacuums: No longer expensive toys?

We have a Roomba at home. Its very handy on the hard floors and great for getting under furniture, etc.

Unimatic, thanks for the retrospective permission, I guess I should have asked first.

    Dyson dc07 Full Gear

I always thought that, but American customers tell me they all have the double lock. Someone told me it was done there first to prevent Dyson being sued in the US in case a bin came off when carrying down the stairs. Do any American members have this type of handle? ...

    Dyson dc07 Full Gear

I believe they got the beefed up one before us; in fact I am not sure if they ever had any other type. They do use the US as a test market. The US models do have differing brushrolls, brushroll housings and sole plates too. For the OP, we have three Allergy DC07 models here, the...

Dyson DC04 Absolute+ Dual cyclonic HEPA vacuum

Can I ask how you chaps are dating these Dysons?

Dyson DC04 after clean (Thanks Sebo_Fan!)

I agree about not fitting the correct motor retainer. If you have fitted an Ametek motor in there, you need the Ametek retaining ring too. Leaving it off isn't really an option.

    Dyson dc07 Full Gear

Beko I think that double lock handle was standard in the US.

    Dyson DC07 Bath

I've never really noticed the difference in noise levels between the two cyclone types to be honest. I'll compare now you have mentioned it.

    Dyson DC14 after refurb

Very nice. Although personally, I would have put a purple stair tool on it to match the brush.

    Dyson DC07 Bath

We had a customer recently who brought her DC07 she bought from us back because of an "ear splitting noise" it was making. We plugged it in and tried it. I asked her "When does it make the noise?" She said, "Well, that's it! Can't you hear it?" The machine sounded perfectly...

Quote Turbo500: "If they start telling everyone how to repair their Dysons or where to get instructions on how to repair their Dysons, it's not going to be great for business." Chris, there are something like twenty million Dysons in this country alone. More in the US and Oz, etc. We can't...

    my dyson dc01collection 2013

Quote: A lot of us have transformers to run cleaners from over seas :) Running a 110-120v machine on a step down is no problem. Running a 220-240v machine from a 110v supply, whilst possible with gadgetry, is not really advised.

A free Dyson DC24 up for grabs for social media users! #WinADyson

Parwaz, what a great tale. Thanks for sharing your experience! When we first started our shop, I remember trailing out to Glossop for an old DC03 I won on eBay. It was necessary stock as we had about four machines in the place and a few boxes of old crap from old machines. If you get near...

    my dyson dc01collection 2013

They can be £15 delivered. I need to check how many we have, but I recall seeing two or three. We bought a ton of original, new, boxed stuff a few months ago that was ex-Dyson from the continent, had to send a luton van out there to get it, and there was a lot of treasure in there (for us) and...

A free Dyson DC24 up for grabs for social media users! #WinADyson

*Mods, if this isn't allowed here, please delete* Today we launched a competition giving away a reconditioned Dyson DC24 in December. The object of the exercise is increase our exposure on social media, get us some likes, follows and shares, etc. So we decided the best way to do that was to...

If you sell on eBay you really need to read this.

Thanks for that, I just opted out. We have a problem with people stealing our photos on eBay. I tag most of them but it doesn't stop them. Thankfully, lots of good and decent folks tend to alert us when they spot them and I get them removed pretty sharpish. It really bugs me that I spend a...
