    my robot vacuum collection

While I still don't think robot vacuums have gotten to the point where they can take the place of corded vacuums, they have come a long way in the last 20 years, originally they would just bounce around the room randomly and were about as powerful as a dust buster. The robots available now are...

    Robot Vacuum for multiple floors

I would suggest I would suggest you check out the bots made by Roborock. They are excellent, and many of them support mapping for more than one floor. In my opinion Roborock is the best robot brand available right now. Mike

    Canavac XLS semi-acquired

Canavac They are a good brand I think. I have a unit that uses this motor, the Vacumaid SR800, I don't use a muffler and it's not too bad but I think there might be some sound blocking material inside. I use all of my central vacuum units free standing in my apartment, they are great. Mike

Looking for best affordable hard floor attachment ?

Wessel-Werk RD285 Absolutely. Get the Wessel-Werk RD285, rather than brushes, it has squeegees. It has large wheels in the back and will roll across hard floors very nicely. In my view it is one of the best hard floor tools available. Mike

Why do bypass vacuums have such terrible deep-cleaning performance?

Sebo Felix How about the Sebo Felix? It's a clean air design but I think it cleans as well as any direct air machine. The direct air design has several disadvantages. If you vacuum up certain things, it will break the fan. They are also not good with attachments. Really the vacuum that has the...

    US Henry, Charles, PPR380 (Nacecare)

120 volt Henry The performance is excellent. Even though the motor only uses 680 watts, it has cleaning power similar to much higher power motors. The Henry is a great cleaner. Mike

Are mini-electrified upholstery tools better than turbo tools?

electric is definitely better An electric nozzle, whether mini or large is always better than a turbo nozzle for several reasons. First, in order to spin the turbine, it robs the system of cleaning power. Second, everything you vacuum up goes through the turbine and they are very easy to clog...

My new Riccar Prima Power Team Full-Size Nozzle R50FSN.4

controls in the hose I have the Prima, it is a nice little canister. I don't consider the controls not being on the hose to be a bad thing. That requires circuit boards, just more components to fail. Mike

disappointment when an item becomes part of vacuum history

Kenmore 116 Not sure when that Kenmore 116 that was in the video was made but it sounds like a two stage motor. Sounds very similar to the motor that was used in at least some of the Kenmore Whispertone models. It would be awesome if the CT10 nozzle made a come back. Is Steel City a vacuum...

    Anyone know about these?

new power nozzle I have one of these canisters, it's the two speed one and mine came with the Dustcare PB11, the hose connection and plug are standard for power nozzles so in theory you can connect any power nozzle you want. One unique thing about this cleaner is that if you run the vacuum on...

disappointment when an item becomes part of vacuum history

Kenmore designs I think the Kenmore designs also live on in the Titan vacuums. And how about the early 70's designs of the Eureka powerteam canisters? Those were great. Mike

can anyone identify this power nozzle

MD has a new central vacuum power nozzle available, they are calling it the Falcon, I'm sure it's a rebranded power nozzle since they don't make their own but based on the description I can't tell which one it is. It's not the Dustcare PB11 or a Eureka express since those don't have height...

disappointment when an item becomes part of vacuum history

Electrolux Ultra One I also remember being disappointed when the Electrolux Ultra One canisters were discontinued, these were made by the European Electrolux company not Aerus and they were some of the quietest and most powerful canisters available. The one thing I didn't like about them was...

disappointment when an item becomes part of vacuum history

So, is it just me or do other collectors also feel some disappointment when something related to vacuums that they really like becomes discontinued and is now a part of vacuum history? That's the case for me here, the Centec CT10 power nozzle is now a thing of the past and is no longer...

    Finished my Central Vac install

cyclovac and other Canadian central vacuum manufacturers Yes, the Riccar central vacuum units are made by Cyclovac. the cyclovac brand itself is not available in this area that I know of, they sell their units through dealers and there is not a dealer in this area, they do have some nice units...

Mid 1960s Eatons VIKING 2000 canister

kind of a shame they moved away from vacuums It's a shame that Panasonic decided to get out of the vacuum business, they actually developed an awesome power nozzle for hard floors. I think it came with one of the Panasonic canisters and Centec also sells the nozzle, I'm not sure if they are...

    TriStar DXL

great machine Those are excellent cleaners. I bought one at the last vacuum convention last year, it's a beautiful machine. I think it was also sold in vacuum stores and it was called the revelation. That's the last model Tristar made before Aerus bought them and I don't think any of the Aerus...

We made the St. Louis Riverfront Times

have them try the zapper Tom, the best vacuum to let them try is the zapper, lol, and if they're lucky, they might get to experience what a lot of users experienced back when that machine was being made. Seriously, do you let anyone try that machine or do you think it's too risky? Mike

    Finished my Central Vac install

pictures Sorry, I have a visual impairment so if I took pictures, they probably wouldn't look right, the units actually are not that big, you have the right idea though, I have central vacuum units all around my apartment actually, I can cover the whole place with a 50 foot hose. I would love...

    Finished my Central Vac install

having a central vacuum and venting Mark, if you want a central vacuum you can definitely have one, you don't have to use them with pipes. I have lots of central vacuum units around my apartment, I use them all without pipes. Just use the utility valve, or attach one if the unit does not have...
