    Introducing the Vita-Vac

Jeff Why did you remove the beater bar strip to replace with a regular brush strip? I would think the beater bar/brush combination would have been an excellent choice for your plush carpets. I'm just curious.

    I have gotten BIT!!

Where to find Kirbys... Matt a good place to check is consignment or pawn shops. It seems that lots of people bring high end vacuums (at least in my town) and pawn them off for money. There is a pawn shop here that has a Kirby Classic in decent condition for $35. I am debating on buying it...

The Singer Twin Fan...is that a canister or upright?

    Introducing the Vita-Vac

Attachments So it sounds like Vita Vac ditched the cheap power nozzle and started selling them with only the deluxe power nozzle now! That's a very smart move in my opinion. You are correct that the power nozzle is identical to the Kenmore power mate models. I think if you are going to spend...

Latest acquistion - Switson Industries Canadian Tire Model R-70

Nice Vacuum! I have a question though. Does anyone know why most of the early canister vacuums had sleigh runners on them instead of wheels? To me that makes them terribly difficult to pull around the house. The Lux XXX is a good example. I wonder why they just never thought to put wheels on...

Robert Hey it looks like you might get some of the parts you need for your Hoover Jr. Congrats! I know how much you love that vacuum. :-)

Another 2 **Big Yays** for Craigslist!

Miele Have you made a vid of you using the Miele yet? I have only used Miele canisters (which I love) but I have never seen the "stick vac" type that you have. (for lack of a better term). QUESTION! What is the correct way to pronounce Miele? I always say "me-lah" but Martha Stewart was on TV...

    Introducing the Vita-Vac

Power Nozzle I'm glad to see you have that well made power nozzle instead of the standard Douglas power nozzle that ususally comes with the Vita Vac. The power nozzle you have really deep cleans and is a pleasure to use. I have the same one on my purple Air-Way. (You can't beat a power nozzle...

Here is some of my home collection!

Yep, Charlie I saw the Model S. That is a perfect example of one! One of my favorites is the white Eureka canister in the 3rd picture down sitting on top of the Kirby. I think that is an Ironside. I really like those vacuums.

Thermax AF Vacuum Cleaner & Steam Cleaner

Power Nozzle Don't these use a Hoover designed power nozzle? Or at least a power nozzle that is the same shape as a Hoover power nozzle?

    1205 Hose Removal?

Is the hose possibly rusted into the machine from sitting in a damp basement? Try spraying some WD-40 on the end of the hose and let it sit overnight. In the morning, see it will come out.

    New Upright for Area Rugs

Hey Joe If your area rungs aren't too thick and plush, a canister vacuum with an air driven turbo nozzle can do a nice job on smaller area rugs. A good example is Miele. I'm just giving you more suggestions. You can use the canister vac's bare floor attachment to clean your bare floors and then...

    Little Lux

Alan, the Little Lux is an electric hand vac like Eric said. It has a cloth bag and is the same size as the Lux Sidekick attachment. Actually, it really is just a Sidekick with a bag on it. They are really cool to grab for quick pick ups. I use one sometimes on my carpeted stairs and sometimes...
