Yeah that's the Filter Queen style power nozzle I was talking about. I really don't like them, but we all have our own opinions. :-) I wonder if Royal still makes these vacuums. The date that was stamped on mine was 06/06/01. I was surprised, I figured it was older than that.

Yes the PN5 is much better than any of the PN4's. But I am talking about cleaning ability, not durability. :-) The PN4's will be around a lot longer than the PN5's that for sure, but they just don't clean as good.

Yes that's a speed control switch on the vacuum. As far as the options on the older blue model, I'm not sure. The one thing I do know is that some of the blue models had the speed control on the hose handle. I think that is cool, wish mine had that. Mine only has an on/off switch on the handle...

Regarding my theory, remember the Silverado is over 20 years old now and the power nozzle you see with the machines may not be the original one that came with the vacuum. I have seen many vacuum shops take the deluxe Silverado and piece it together with a PN4, PN4A, etc. Just a thought...

I'm glad the power nozzle on this is the same as those found on Kenmore vacuums. I hated the Filter Queen made power nozzles that came with the older Royal canisters...

Here's a peak inside. There was no dust leakage from the bag (unless someone had already cleaned the inside out...)

The filtration system is not TOO bad. I was surprised to see it uses a cloth bag with paper bag combination.

Look how long the hose is! The canister is so heavy to pull around, this hose makes it much more easier to manage.

This thing was absolutely filthy. I think the previous owner was a hair dresser because the power nozzle was packed with human hair clippings. EEW!
