This is to all Oreck fans...

As to the life of the smaller motors VS larger motors. The Oreck motor is small and turns very fast (same for the Riccar RSL motor) this high speed will wear the small bearings out faster. Larget motors tend to turn slower, andh have larger bearings. Some larger motors are made cheaply, which...

anyone selling a dyson for $135

I really do like filtrete bags. Just the other day a lady brought in her Miele for a regular serice and cleaning. The Intensive Clean bag was absolutely packed full of dirt, and backing up into the intake. The vacuum still had enough power to keep cleanin, even though you could tell it had lost...

Riccar has been in the sewing machine buisness since 1945. They started making vacuums in the 80s and were bought by tacony in the early 90s. Ever since Tacony bought them, they and Simplicity have been a growing company in the independant vcuum store buisness. They have a full line of high...

The warranty on the Riccars are 2 years. As for comparing the 2, I look at both cleaning and reliability. Some of the features for durability that the Riccar has that Oreck doesnt: a circuit breaker on th motor, thread guards on the brushroll, rubber treaded lexan wheels that roll on brass...

Free annual tune-ups Or are they free? The reason for this rediculously high price is because you are actually paying for these "free" services at the time you buy it. The "free" BB 1100 is also built into the price. The Riccar costs less becuase they didn't add all these "free" items to go...

    The best chirstmas ever!

I usually do wipe off the gasket flange behind the separator after each use. I have seen to many with nasty buildup there that just a quick wipe would have removed. I see you got the Rainbow SE, what attachments did you get with it?

How to get to the switch on a Regina broom model 1

I got one of these for Christmas, and the switch needs some attention, but I can't figure out how to get to it. Any help would be really appreciated.

    DirtDevil featherlite

Re : Tom Gasko I'm not really sure what happened to him to get banned, but I also miss having him here, as do other people I have talked to.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about the seal before, but it makes sense.

Depending on where they live, I can suggest a store. If they live here in Denver tell them to go to Anderson's Vacuum. And tell them to say I sent them there. ;)

anyone selling a dyson for $135

I am really not big on bagless vacuums. But I would certainly take the Dyson over the Hoover. Keep looking for the Dyson, you will eventually find a good deal. I eventually found a nice one for $50. Htey are out there.

Question about a Kenmore on Ebay

This is Sebo They are a German vacuum maker. They make many different brands of commercial vacuums, as well as selling them under their name. We are a Sebo dealer where I work, and I have a Windsor. They are great vacuums.

To properly use a Rainbow Fill the pan with water to the top of the post in the middle. Then put the top on, making sure that the seperator is on finger tight. Vacuum untill you see that the water is getting dirty. CHange the water when it starts looking too dirty, don't let it get any darker...

    Advice Needed-Canister Vacuums For Allergies

I would say if you have a Vita Vac, you don't really have a need for a new vacuum. Just make sure you use the genuine Air-Way bags. Mieles are also great for allergies. For air cleaenrs, I recommend something like IQ Air. Anything that is basically just a big HEPA filter with a fan works best...

    A Request

I really don't know of any canisters with headlights untill the 70s. I'm not sure who wrote the play, but they must not have researched the vacuum to use. If thy want a headlight, they will either vace to find a way of attaching one, or use a newer vacuum. This is just my best advice based on...

My favorite GE Roll Easy story

I think its funny, just like Tom Gasko's Kirby demo.

say it isn't so! Dirt Devil Parent Company/Kenmore

My understanding is that TTI will be making the K-Mart model Kenmores, and that Panasonic will still be making the sears models.

    riccar synergy

In my opinion The Riccar Radiance/Simplicity Synergy is one of the best vacuum cleaners ever made. You can't always trust what a non dealer will say about the vacuum, they want you to buy a brand they carry. The Radiance is very well built, with a lot of metal internal parts and a belt that is...

    Silver King powernozzle hood.

What I currently have is a white Douglas with the 3 wire silver king cord put on it. If I get a new power nozzle I would probably just get one complete from Silver King. But it has the lable for the newer model. I know that if I order just the new upper housing from Silver King, its just a plain...
