    Kirby G4 Help

The transmission from the Sentria should fit the G4.  I'm pretty sure the transmission is the only thing that fits universally across the Generation series.  The mini-Emptor should also fit, as the exhaust connection port is the important part, and that hasn't changed in the Generation series.

    My first Kirby Refurb

They are fun to work on! The vintage Kirbys scare me cuz I know parts are scarce, but truth be told, they are probably just as easy to work with. The best part (for me) is welcoming a new member into the Kirby Family!

    My first Kirby Refurb

Thanks guys! @human-  If you look closer, there is a Kirby Dirt Meter on the exhaust.  I gave her a full Home Demonstration.  She absolutely loved it, she was giggling giddily when I snapped this picture!   @electrolux137-  Thank you!  This is my first G4 refurbishment.  I just finished the...

    My first Kirby Refurb

I can't believe I've never shared this on Vacuumland! This is my first ever Kirby refurbishment, a Kirby G4. It was in okay shape to start. I really just had to clean it out internally. I did wet sand the aluminum and polish with a small polishing wheel on a drill. It's not as good as my...

    An amazing discovery about PURELL...

Do NOT use hand sanitizer on glasses! Alcohol is TERRIBLE for plastic spectacle lenses, including CR-39, polycarbonate, Trivex, mid-index plastic, and high-index plastic.  The alcohol in the cleaner strips away the top laminating layers, which leaves the lenses susceptible to scratches...

How to Kill a Kirby 518

$99?!?!  Wow!   I wouldn't pay $9 for that monstrosity.  In whoever's defense, I'm sure she doesn't know how a 518 is supposed to look.  But still, $99?!  That thing doesn't even have both front wheels!

don't solder the brush wires. someone did !

WOW!  Obviously not a Kirby-approved servicing.  Eeek gads, what are you gonna do?!

    So...Daily Drivers? (pre 1995)

Suckolux So glad you're using your Kirby! Have you tried cheating and extending the brushes on the brush roll a bit?  Extending the brushes past the recommended 1/16" will help break the seal on the carpet, thereby rendering the unit easier to move.  You should notice lovely Kirby lines on the...

My Kirby Heritage II, using Heritage attachments

This is my Kirby Heritage II, which was rescued from Savers and gifted to me by my bestie. We cleaned it up a bit, but it definitely needs to be restored to a showroom shine. I just got the hose yesterday from another dear friend Charles Richard Lester. Prior to this, I had never used my...
