I also have collected two DS50's in the last few weeks, how does the cloth bag release from the emptor housing. The manual says that there is a spring holding the cloth bag in place, I would like to remove and wash both bags but am afraid of ripping the bag!

Tom, After seeing all of your finds from the Hoover Vault, I remembered that I have an old Montomgery Ward Carper Shampooer. Look forward to meeting you in August.

One thing to check is the pivot point on each side of the agaitor head, I had one of these pop out of place. And it would hardly pick up anything.

Bought a DC14 1 year ago, thought it was a great vac however you can not beat that hoover "IT BEATS AS IT SWEEPS AS IT CLEANS". The Dyson does not groom like a hoover does! Went back to using the Hoover!!!
