Free to a good home (U.K.)

Ultimatevacman I have checked on postage rates, and since your 'coming clean', I assume money will be in short supply for you, so if you 'private message' a postal address to me, I'll bag them up and post them to you at my expense in the next few days. All best Dave T

Do Bosch make good Vacuum Cleaners? (UK)

Quality I have a Bosch PAS 900 'heavy Duty' (2" hose) wet/dry canister type cleaner. I picked it up 'nearly new', and it has done (and survived) some remarkably heavy work including 'loft filth' (the sooty, sandy gunk which accumulates in lofts in the industrial North) and 'drywall dust'. It...

    Strange Hoover Plug...

Socketman I don't wish to hijack this (resurrected) thread, but I have many old and (in some cases) odd-ball connectors (including 'professional / military types'). If this is a field of particular interest to you, perhaps we should utilise the 'messaging' facility on this wonderful site to...

    Vacuum attacks

Pets and Vacuum Cleaners The main reason for most pets avoiding Vacuum cleaners is the very loud high frequency (beyond the human range) sounds they produce. We can only hear the whine from the fan, there is also commutator noise and armature magnetostriction, which is at about 3-5 times the...

London, Miele Spin Dryer for Sale

Spin dryer Wouldn't be without one..... Halves drying time in the Winter... Especially if you (like me) have an older, slower spinning, washer. All best Dave T

Glade Shake n Vac / Carpet Freshener Powder - Your Opinions?

Carpet powders- a fix for modern living Evil machine-destroying stuff foisted upon a gullible public by clever marketing men, a 'quick-fix' patch for another problem with our modern lifestyle (here in the U.K. anyway), along with 'Febreeze', etc. The source of the problem is lack of ventilation...

    monster vac

Big Vacuum Cleaner The biggest vacuum cleaner (as opposed to dust extraction system) I ever saw was in the Central Stores of the local steelworks. It had two very large motors sat atop it, the drum (canister) was a little larger than a 50 gallon oil drum, and the hose was at least 3 inch...

Parts postage I'll check up on the cost of postage, Joe. I am also considering them 'spoken for' now (attention other members ;-) ). Best regards Dave T

    the perils of bubblewrap

Bakelite Nice in-line switch!! I still have several of the old light socket adaptors, also old plugs and sockets (30 amp 2-pin, 15amp 3-pin, 5amp 2-pin and 3-pin) which may be of interest to restorers or stage/television set/prop procurers..... All best Dave T

    Skip find on holiday

Dustin I think the 'standard' size for a 'static' trailer on a U.S. RV park is 70'X14'... These are smaller, probably about 50'X10', but otherwise much the same. The main difference is that here you are usually kept awake at night by the near-constant rain drumming on the roof... ;-) All best...

Free to a good home (U.K.)

Tools Yes, I still have them, no-one has expressed any desire to collect them. It should be stressed that they are in a similar condition to the machine..... Tatty, used, but not split/broken. All best Dave T

Free to a good home (U.K.)

Stoke on Trent I have just been rather surprised to see that my thread has been 'resurrected'. :-O I have (since RichardC collected the other stuff) found a couple of Dyson attachments lying around. These being a crevice tool, a small elliptical brush with an angled swivel, and an adaptor...

    Got another Dyson DC01!!!

'Bagless Generation' I, too, feel sorry for those who are growing up / have grown up in the age of cheaply-produced, (but expensive to buy!!) 'plastic-y' throw-away appliances. Regardless of the manufacturers' claims, I would challenge any of them to out-perform my 20+ year old cannister or...

Free to a good home (U.K.)

Richard Glad you've successfully collected your cleaners. It's a pity that we were unable to meet.... When you finally found my place, I was about six miles away, trying to unload a machine which SHOULD have been available for collection on the Wednesday, which would have left me free on the...

    Electrolux RF Capacitor Replacement

Digikey, Etc. Just had a look at your 'link'. Look under 'film types' Voltage: 600DC/200AC... Capacitance: .047/.05 uF... Material: Polypropylene or Polyester. 0.047 is a far more 'common' type than 0.05, which will probably make them cheaper.(that's just how it is ;) ) The difference is...
