    HUGE Vacuum Palooza Sale

Sorry, misread details To ship everything displayed in the Rainbow picture... If the canister could fit in a 16" x 16" x 16" box at 20lbs. = $48.25; at 25lbs. = $53.79 If there's room for more without tipping scales, then include them. The rest should fit into a 14" x 14" x 24" box at 20lbs...

    HUGE Vacuum Palooza Sale

Dysonman Since I need EVERYTHING shipped to me, living in Hawaii, the cheapest carrier is USPS (the Post Office) Their size and weight limits cover most things. Those two hoses you mentioned would probably have fit into two large Flat Rate Priority boxes at $18.85 ea. shipped from anywhere to...

Spy shot of dyson's new electric concept car..

An electric car!? So Dyson wants to compete with Tesla, GM and others to build an electric car by 2020? How long after before they start turning up at Goodwill?

    The 1957 Lewyt - world's FIRST!

Great addition, Tom! I'm always fascinated by "Firsts", in that the innovators went with an upgrade idea, but later, after obvious consumer input (or a competitor's tweaking) arrived at a subsequent perfected design. Premier's hand vac is a good example of this innovative "evolutionary process".

    Royal Model 129 Mid 30's?

Just a few more pix Hi Pete, I tried to find examples of your name plate online. It seems a transitional color scheme between the original mostly gold to the two-tone red-black. You've no doubt noticed that Royals started out with the fan housing exhaust on the right side as you face the...

    Royal Model 129 Mid 30's?

For what its worth... Hi Phaeton (Pete), I dug around a bit and found an old VL posting you probably already saw #21502. It talks about and has pictures of restored Royal 189's. As for your 129, there's an old ad of a late 30's to early 40's model sporting a black bag. Also, there's a YouTube...

Columbus mark III vacuum and polisher find

Awesome!! We don't have anything so ingenious in the States. I love clever "old tech". Especially manufacturers who kept peoples' tight household budgets in mind. Museum quality restoration BTW. Its OK that you collect vacuums. (We at Vacuum Collectors Anonymous are here to help) :)

    Off the cuff

No problem I'm assuming...that the electric version of the hoses Vacuumciti sells come in various lengths, and already have the correct type of electrical connections on them. But you'd need to contact them to make sure. If they don't have electrical connectors on them, you can simply get an...

    Off the cuff

Hey ND, If you're trying to separate the flex hose from the black plastic coupling, then you want to free up the red & blue wire combo from the handle switch console. (I don't know what I'm talking about, but it sounds good). That R/B wire combo ends in a male plug (like a telephone land-line)...

    Off the cuff

Try Youtube There's a few vids on modern vac hose repair/replacement. This screenshot includes the video url at the top. Its not the exact same Kenmore progressive, but they probably used the same connection design for yours.

    Interesting instructions: Singer E-10

In the pictured example they provide, this thicker, stiffer older type of hose uses its end attachments as "feet" resting on the floor, and helping take the weight off the hose. The hose doesn't seem to "hang" from the wall hook, the hook merely keeps the hose standing upright on its own.

    Hose repair

The best way is to contact their customer service Email: [email protected] Phone: 703-635-7521 Measure the length of hose needing replacement. If it has fittings on either end, allow 4" to 6" more. measure the hose diameter, both outer and inner. Choose a color. When you contact them, tell...

    Hose repair

One possible source Hey normadesmond, I'm from Minneapolis FYI You're right about not so old parts quickly going obsolete. That's why most people work on their own stuff. If you're game... There's a distributor of (what they call) vacuum hose varieties. Vacuumland members are experienced pros...

    Delco Upright

Is this a new acquisition? Hey Bvac6, I recently saw one of these rare birds on craigslist. There's 2 versions, I believe. A straight rugsucker such as the one pictured, and a belt-driven brushroll model (perhaps a newer innovation?). There's several interesting past posts about Delcos Frank

    First Vacuum Memories?

The "bug" that bit me I found a 1916 Eureka upright in the attic of a duplex The owner gave it to me. I cleaned it, rewired it, and polished it up. Since then I've been hooked on "Old Tech".
