    Ok, dumb kirby question...

I actually enjoy my shake out bags for light cleaning/grooming of the carpets. Given my allergies, I usually use one of my favorite disposable bag units (Tradition, Heritage II, or Diamond) for the heavy cleaning. But if I just want to groom an already deep-cleaned carpet, I'll use one of the...

    Baird Meter Hose CFM

Thanks Wyaple Wow! I can't wait to try it now. I knew it had to have a use, I just couldn't figure it out. So, do you stick the long, tapered end into the fill tube and then afix the Baird meter onto the other end? Do you screw-off the black "cap"? Just trying to figure it out.

    Baird Meter Hose CFM

WOW! Thank you so much for posting these results, and for producing such an easy-to-read graphic. You rock! I've been wondering what those whole number values represented on the Baird. Now if I could figure out what the cylindrical spoke with metal springs around its head is used for, I'll...

What are you oldest most cherished vacuums?

Question for Kirby 508 owners Does your Kirby 508 have a small spring on the nozzle locking lever? The lever I'm referring to is mounted on the fan case and is used to "lock" the nozzle onto the front of the unit, right before you then use the Belt Lifter to attach the belt to the pulley...

To keep the Kirby Heritage II or go with a Kirby Sanitronic 80?

I get it I have owned a couple D80s and currently own one Heritage II with another coming in about a week.  I must admit, of the vintage "pre-Generation" Kirby systems, the Heritage II holds a special place to me.  Its motor is more powerful than the DS80 motor, and is quieter than anything...

    Kirby Sanitronic 7 issues

I have heard a similar sound on a newly-acquired 513.  It's like a ringing almost, but yeah, it sounds like the inner metal fan is hitting something, only not that frequent and it doesn't sound too too loud.  I would think metal hitting metal would be louder, more frequent, etc.     So yeah...

    Kirby Diamond BPI light...

I have washed a nozzle with the BPI light on before, but I prefer to take it off (along with the belt lifter assembly) to really get all the dirt and gunk out. That's gonna be your best bet for a thorough cleaning.

Weird Kirby Dual Sanitronic Handle Label

I have seen both I have personally owned two Dual Sanitronic 80 units in the past. They had one of each of these labels. I'm not sure if the one that just says "Sanitronic" is real or not. I'm not even sure why they would print it without the "80", since the DS 80 was the only Sanitronic...

A BAD EBAY DEAL FROM RUGSUCKER

I am so very sorry you've had to go through this, Charles! I can imagine how you felt, and I definitely sympathize with what that experience must of been like. I hope there is a positive resolution, and that you get at least your money back.

My New Old Kirby Heritage 2!

Congrats! Your machine will clean up beautifully. I just put a new headlight lens assembly on mine today. I wish I had the Heritage II label for my Belt Lifter.

Like Brand New Kirby 519 in Box

rugsucker, re: "a GORGEOUS profit" If a person gets a vintage Kirby unit 100% free, ANY profit they make is GORGEOUS as it came at ABSOLUTELY NO COST to them.  They haven't even had to store it for the 57 years of its existence.  No cost!   So while "it would seem more likely that a Kirby...

compactelectra That really is a shame.  I understand why you did what you did, but obviously that was a mistake.  The best course of action would have been to issue the return label and wait for your unit to arrive, then issue your full refund.   Given your buyer is calling your concerns...

Like Brand New Kirby 519 in Box

WOW I'm shocked to read this.  I have had my own run ins on eBay with sellers, but can't imagine something like this with a buyer!   I just have to ask... why did you issue a full refund without receiving your item back first?  eBay's return policy states that the buyer must ship back the...

    Kirby Diamond

Love my Ultimate G Diamond It really is a nifty machine.  I got mine at a vacuum shop that was closing and relocating stock to Utah.  I   ended up buying the Diamond and got 12 bags, 9 belts, 2 big bottles of shampoo and standard accessories that did not match.  Eventually, I got all the...

Looking for a cheap Kirby G4

I'm selling a fully loaded, refurbished G4 Probably not "cheap" though.  I would definitely want to recoup my investment in parts, supplies, accessories, and maybe a little compensation for labor.  Email me if interested.

    Kirby G4 Help

The transmission from the Sentria should fit the G4.  I'm pretty sure the transmission is the only thing that fits universally across the Generation series.  The mini-Emptor should also fit, as the exhaust connection port is the important part, and that hasn't changed in the Generation series.

    My first Kirby Refurb

They are fun to work on! The vintage Kirbys scare me cuz I know parts are scarce, but truth be told, they are probably just as easy to work with. The best part (for me) is welcoming a new member into the Kirby Family!
