    Good Baking depends on!!

White Lily: What was done to White Lily flour was a sin and a crime. The mill where it was made was closed, and production sent to another mill that did not have the same historic milling equipment as the original. My understanding is that the wheat may also have been changed. White Lily...

    How much for this Tri-star?

Even Better! The two-speed TriStars seem to have a higher failure rate than the one-speed models, and I've never in my entire life figured out why two speeds would be needed on a vacuum anyway. I've had a couple with two speeds and never used the feature. I hope Brad can tell us soon...

    How much for this Tri-star?

Worth a Try: If the seller takes $35, great. But if he balks, I'd just cave in and close the deal at $40.00. Not worth losing a good TriStar over $5.00.

    How much for this Tri-star?

Brad: Take your time shopping for a new hose - thinking that you have to find one right away could end up costing you more money than you'd spend otherwise. I'd spend some time shopping eBay for a couple of weeks and get the feel of the market before doing the deal on one.

    How much for this Tri-star?

Brad: If you want a TriStar, this is a very good deal as long as the motor is in good shape. That hose is expensive, but some careful shopping on eBay will save you some money.

P.S.: Salton's original brand name for these was the "Hotray." If you look these up online or on eBay, you will find listings for "Hotray" and "hot tray."

    ge stove?

I Think.... ....That might be like a '53 or '54 freezer. Maybe '52. I don't know the fridges pre-1957 as well as some other people do.

    ge stove?

P.S.: This range would have been the absolute bottom of the line. It has only one large burner, only one oven, no light for the cooktop and very little trim. That having been said, this is a very handsome range and it appears to have been taken care of VERY well.

    ge stove?

Actually.... ....The knobs, the trim and the burner configuration (three small and only one large burner, spread wide apart) mark it as a lower-end range, probably a Speedster, from before 1957, when GE undertook a major restyling that affected all ranges in the line. This frame was still used...

All's Well.... ....That ends well! I'm glad that you and Jerry were able to work well together to reach a successful conclusion. I've seen many a situation where things went wrong, and it is NOT pretty. It looks like a wonderful house again.
