Best deep cleaner? Kirby or sanitaire?

Here's a question that might shine some light on all this. What kind of Sanitaire did that come out of? Was it a Sanitaire Professional series (blue) or a Sanitaire Commercial series (Red)? I believe they actually have different motors and would likely have different impellers as well. Blue...

Need advice on what kirby to choose.

The actual cost to the regional distributor of a new Kirby typically is around 350 to 450. They then sell it to the individual distributor for around 800 who effectively sells it to their senior distributors (experienced salesmen) for 1000 or their junior distributors (new salesmen) for 1200...

    What's in the vac Shops

The problem is that if you make it your policy to sell used vacuums in any condition, there are positive and negative attributes. First thing that happens is customers start to question why to spend 1300 bucks on a new Riccar Radiance when you have a used one for half the price. Second, I'm...

Need advice on what kirby to choose.

Holy crap! Those prices are out of this world!! I saw a Sentria sell for 180 on ebay the other day. Surely you can find a much better price than that. In general G4 or G5 for my money though, but shop around a little bit to prices are absurd.

Need advice on what kirby to choose.

Look, don't worry about storage of the Kirby. At the base of the handle there is a three position switch that allows you to set the handle to either go all the way to the floor to get under furniture or to lean the vacuum back a little so you can easily go up onto rugs or over thresholds. If...

    What's in the vac Shops

This is very interesting to me as I have two degrees in business. In my eyes, any customer is a good customer. But just as my operation is akin to "Shifty Seans Shweet Shweepers" yours would be more like "The Promenade of Sanitation". I currently work with a vac shop that deals almost...

Best deep cleaner? Kirby or sanitaire?

I didn't say Sebo didn't exist in America. I said: "they are either impossible or nearly so to get in America". Sorry to be picky, but I have personally owned over 500 vacuums in the last year alone and have never even had the privilege to actually see a Sebo in person. I understand they are...

    Now at Walmart

I don't think much of this news. When Oreck's new $500 upright is the "Magnesium", I have little hope left for them in the first place. Over here in America, we are seeing other brands pop up in Oreck stores too like Miele and Simplicity. As for Panasonic, I don't see this as a big deal since...

Best deep cleaner? Kirby or sanitaire?

You see! Now some of those brands that gsheen listed we can't find to save our life out here. AEG, Nilfisk, Karcher, Wap, Vorwerk, Russelhobs, Morphy Richards, Sebo Most of us on this site are familiar with these brands because of our vac-psychoses but they are either impossible or nearly so...

    What's in the vac Shops

In much of America, Dysons are the number one vacuum brand to be in for service at the vac shop. I think this is because of the trend that Americans seem to think everything is disposable. Because I don't have an actual shop and operate out of my apartment (I currently have more than 40 vacs...

Best deep cleaner? Kirby or sanitaire?

From my experience, both of you guys are very knowledgeable and helpful people. I have only been in the vacuum sales/repair world for a short time and both of you have helped me many times and I appreciate it. To most people commenting on this, I would bring to attention that gsheen is located...

    Friday Nite Auction Find!

That blue one is a great find but the red one is better. The blue one has the new Kenmore logo on it which they just changed within the last year or two. I would go to a vac shop and see if they have any PNs laying around. Other than that, check eBay I guess.

Need advice on what kirby to choose.

I don't really like the G3. Some people say there's no difference, some say there is, I just know that I have noticed most G3's being a little funky and jerky with the TechDrive, the self propel transmission. The G5 is Purple and the G6 is Black so as for color, I like them better, but...

    Panasonic Dual Sweep?

That concept was actually done by Hoover as well in the windtunnel Dual V. I have one and love it but it is in the process of being customized. Here it is pre modifications: http://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?14737

    What's in the vac Shops

I have a friend that worked for a major bank from 08-09 cleaning out houses that had been foreclosed on. He said that he was always finding stuff that people left behind when they were evicted including flat screen tv mounts left on the wall, stock car rims where the person had obviously bought...

You wouldn't spend that on an Electrolux... I'm sorry but that's around a 75 to 100 pound machine at most I think, and I'm not even British...

    Oreck Magnesium

I appreciate good design and I love things that are different and interesting, etc. I love the entire Fantom line, pre europro fantom that is, and I drive a Pontiac Aztek. I love how it looks. It looks so fresh and new. I love the handle and I love the use of empty space. But it does look...
