I noticed that too - one is HI-LOswitch98, and the other seems to be a lower case version hi-loswitch98   I noticed this with SUPER-SWEEPER and super-sweeper as well. Both members are junior members, so I wonder if its just a system anomaly?

Still, its not a very good idea to have all the dust pass through the motor though, and the exhaust filter to do the main filtering. They probably did this deliberately to shorten the motor life. Planned obsolescence again by design.

Another Tacony product joins the Brilliance......

Blimey Seamus - 9.6Kg, thats quite heavy. I'm surprised about it being made in China, I thought it was manufactured in the USA. Looks nice though, and only the 473'rd off the production line in this style by the looks of it. I suppose being made in China is the price you pay for getting this...

I've seen them lol - on ALex'es - you have to take the top off the side air duct and its just in there - a very small, coarse filter that lets all the dust pass through into the motor. VERY bad design, and not good for the motor or its bearings.

Was that the post motor filter Beko? Its no wonder the motor is noisy if all that dust passed through it. Dont they have an effective pre-motor filter in these?

    Hoover Dustette

Ah, right - without actually having this part here in front of me, try testing the continuity between both sides of the egg shape bit - that may be the terminals from the switch then. If they are indeed the terminals, then when the switch is in the ON position, there will be continiuty, and in...

The red wire shouldnt be wired to the brown wire directly - this will only effectively bypass the switch. The black wire should be connected to one of the brown wires utilising the screw hole on that egg shaped bit on the end of the switch assembly (I think thats what that bit is for). The red...

Why dont you just bite the bullet and buy a Miele or a SEBO? - you wouldnt have to keep sending them back then.

    Opinions on Vax Air3?

Its OK for the money - if you can get one for under £130. The base model only has a pitifully short hose though, so you might want to condsider a higher model in the range if you want a longer hose. I got the Air3 Agile from Currys last year, when they first came out - I''ve used it a fair...

Ensign/Sebo - now in Automatic and manual...

Felix Pet has gone as well. The Titan and Total D4 models have gone. The K3 Premium has gone. They were all models that JL never kept in stock anyway, and if you wanted one of them, you had to have them as special orders direct from their "authorised suppliers" usually within 14 working days...

    Bagged Swivel Uprights?

Lets put it this way - SEBO in the UK are always winning "Which" best buys. They are about the most reliable vacs on the market, and their commercial models are highly regarded. Like all machines, even a SEBO can break down, but instances of this are much less than, say TTI machines like Vax in...

    Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup problems

Those tabs on the back of the spine are a common breakage point on the DC07, they are what holds the handle and wand in position, and they break off one by one, until the handle wont stay attached to the machine. The DC07 Animal with the purple spine was the worst for it. The cyclone chambers...
