Well I suppose -fate- has already got me a girlfriend.. (long, blissful story involving her best friend who's a friend of mine ;) she set us up..we clicked..such and such I digress) I'm sure i'll sort something out. I should be glad I have a Connie at all :P this grey one sounds much smoother...

It prob would fit..just the "Swedish Green" one has all more "guts" to it, more wires..a big chunky resistor, etc. I'm sure i'll find a nicer one ;p In an ideal world i'd like to find one of the "White and (insert 70s blue,orange,red etc here) 1970s Connies :) Ian

I -could- change out the motors..unfortunatly the one that burnt out is a newer model (late 60s at a guess) wheras my grey one seems to be early/mid 60s..the arrangement of the motors are quite different lol. Thanks for the replys guys :] Is no loss mind...the rotor (I think it's called that...

Meh, Connies were very popular in the UK mate :) Ours were in somewhat more subdued colour schemes than yours, even in the 1970s :P heh. Ian

Heh, she's mint inside..i've rubbed some antibacterial all inside it, clocked the location of what I (presume :P) to be the bearings for future reference. Gave the furniture guard a bit of a rub, quarter of the way there ;] I just hope i've not knocked something vital on the motor lol. Ian

Finished in her original colour scheme of Death Star two tone grey :P This is of course, a before image. Heh, i've even got a sort of "death star angle" to it the way i'm holding it ;]

Tried her out just quickly, Motor sounds as smooth as ever. My Swedish Green Connie has shot bearings..makes a terrible "Belch" when I shut her off :P or she gets accidently tipped over.. "OARGHHHHHHHURRRPPPPP" sort of noise. Isn't it always the way? the near mint vacuum sounds like crap and...
