    A rare Royal upright...The two Speed 259

I had one when I was in high school and gave it away long before I knew I had something truely special. I regret giving it away... but regret far more WHO I gave it to. Big, big mistake.

    HAZEL - 1961-66 tv show pilot...featuring Kirby?

As I recall the early Eurekas had the exhaust horn on the left side (opposite of Kirby and Royal) and bags went across the front of the handle. I think there was a hook on the front of the fan housing so the botton far edge of the bag could be connected to hold the bag in place. I had an older...

    Vacuum(ing) Or hoover(ing)

I had a friend from a region of Ohio that she called 'a strange hill billy land', her words, not mine. She called her vacuums 'Vacuum Sweepers', or sometimes just 'Sweepers'. Since I have had cats all my life I prefer to call my vacuums, or at least those with headlights 'One-Eyed Kitty Eaters'...

    G4

Tyled, One thing that some first-time G Series users may not know about is that you must ALWAYS switch the Tech Drive pedal, on the rear of the cleaner and below the power switch, into "N" for Neutral before you turn-off the cleaner. If you leave the cleaner in "D" for Drive when the cleaner is...

    Oreck Age

It was a Dealer's Only model for the first few years. The dealers got upset with Oreck when they started selling them online and Factory Direct. I left the local Oreck franchise in 2006 so I missed it when the Oreck family sold out and the dealers were 'thrown to the wolves' so to speak. The...

    The best above floor cleaner?

The Filter Queen is the better vacuum. It is of higher quality and more likely to last, but any vacuum will if properly cared for. Just my opinion. Justin

    1940s & 50s Lewyts

I have a model 66, but it's only got the dolly and a couple of the attachments. I wish I had the hose and the rest of the attachments. I would love to have the Model 70 and 103. They look great.

    You rarest Vacuum cleaner

The rare vacuum I have, which is in storage and I can't get to it to take a picture of it, is a Westinghouse tank-the type on metal runners. It's the same model as the one from the episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy buys a vacuum from a door to door salesman and then has to go door to door to try...

Kenmore bullet 50 year old vacuum...

Divotking As with any collectable value is based on many things, condition, originality, accessories, desirability and demand. Your vacuum looks to be in good, but not perfect condition. For maximum price it would need to be in perfect condition. The hose is not original, it looks like a...

    Oreck Age

The XL21 did come out in 2001. I'm not sure when they started puting the 'date manufactured' on the machines but if, for example it is 03221 you machine was made on day 221 of 2003. January 1st would be day 001 and December 31st is day 365. I hope that helps. Justin

"Mom, we need a new vacuum... this one's too dusty"

I've seen people use F&G bags on Hoovers that take a tpye A bag and also on some Kirbys... but never a sock. Sometimes I wonder if people do things like that because of expence of bags or trouble finding them or is it because they just don't care if they use the wrong things.

    Need metal Eureka handle

I hope that someone out there in vacuumland has some used metal Eureka upright handles for a model like the one in the picture. If you have one and are willing to sell it, please let me know. Thanks in advance. Justin [email protected]

Royal 880- hot rod it, yes or no?

My question for a Royal expert would be... would putting a 9 blade fan into a low amp machine ,like my 606a, give it stronger air-flow or would I need to replace the motor too. I love my 606a, but it has rather weak air-flow/suction. How would that be best addressed? Thanks, Justin

    Filter Queen Lamp :)

I love it!!! I have once used a clamp-on type lamp on the handle of a Kirby... I may try that gain. I also loved your "No vacuums were harmed" notice. Justin

    Eureka 1934A

If you would like to get the overall performance improved I would suggest that you order the Dirt Tube and Overmold to convert your 1934A to use the synthetic Style ST bags. I have done that and my Eureka 1425 works wonderfuly. Let me see if I can add the address I ordered from. Justin...

    New Oreck Bagless

Normally, I don't like change and most of the vacuums that I love are old styled. But I have to say that I DO like this new Oreck. It looks VERY stylish, sleek and just kinda fun. I'm sure that my Kirbys will out clean it, but I just looks fun. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to find one in a pawn...

How do YOU access vacuum land?

I use my Mac Mini desk-top and log in through Firefox. When I misspell something on this forum it is underlined, but I don't know how to fix it when that happens. I freely admit that I am not a great speller, my grammer is sometimes off and since my heart problems started I get muddled and have...
