Some more finds in North Canton....

My Rear View.... This is what I saw behind me all the way home. Its not the best quality, but the hood ornament in my rear view was a sight to see.

Some more finds in North Canton....

No, The Bird has landed......... After a 5 hour trip home without any trouble, I'm home safe and sound with my new toys. I want to thank Tom, Heather and Glenn for hosting me this weekend while I worked out arrangements to get this T-Bird. It was great to plan a little thrifting too. Also...

    Electrolux 1453 Special

I've got a few... I've got a few of these exact same vacuums. They are just the brown, Olympia colored machines. There seems to be alot of them out this way. Not sure if its because they are Canadian and we're so close to the border or just the fact they were chaper than the Olympia. The local...

    Cousin Susan's Hoover

Hey Jeff, Great job with the restoration. I especially like the "updated" Hoover medallion. Too bad they didn't put that on at the factory. It really enhances the look of the machine. Joe

    More North Canton Finds.......

Very Good Tom......... I picked up a 704 today too. Not the original bag, but the rest is decent. In fact the machine is better than the 704 I already have. I might switch out the bags and keep the one I got today. Also a green Swiveltop GE came my way. BTW, the Concept does look pretty nice. Joe

    1205 Disaster!

1205 Troubles here too....... I bought a mint 1205 all complete at an estate sale a while back. A beautiful machine cosmetically. The motor was shot. No problem, I had a spare and put it in. While using it on Thanksgiving morning before the company arrived, the replacement motor went out...

    The Eureka BRAVO!

Plastic Handles.......... Did you ever try to break one of those plastic handles on a Eureka? They are tough. When it finally snapped after bending it past 90 degrees, I almost had my leg taken off when the broken piece snapped back. Its a tough piece of plastic considering how flimsy it feels...

    The Eureka BRAVO!

I've used both........... I've worked on and used both the Elite and Bravo. Both clean well and groom well. I have seen more burnt out Bravo motors almost 2:1 to the Elite. I have two burnt out Bravo's right now. Also the Bravo's bag leaks around its collar. Much worse than an Elite. If you are...

    JC Penney 1979

Shetland Vacs TRG, This Shetland you could snap out the parts to fix. It lists them all in the paper work I got with it. The vac in the picture could very well be a Douglas as the hand vac above it on that page is a Douglas. I've just never seen a full sized Douglas Canister. Tim, That upright...

    JC Penney 1979

More..... The oddball stuff. What's that canister at the bottom? Singer? I do have the first vac shown, the one with the storage.

    JC Penney 1979

Scans of the vacuum section of the 1979 Spring and Summer JC Penney catalog. Check out that commercial vac (item 6). It looks like a Premier. The uprights were mostly Hoovers and the canisters were mostly Eureka. Item 7 looks almost like a Kenmore Duo Power. Joe

    Kemore Commercial

Floating Nozzles Jeff, I know you don't like floating nozzles. That was the one thing you disliked about the Panasonics. My model V6965 Panasonic (red/green dirt lights) has the floating nozzle and it does jump and skip on the carpet if you pull back too fast. But it does clean well and is...

Found; A couple of groady Connies

Great Connies!!!!!!!!! One of these days I'm going to sneak across that border into Canada and do some thrifting. I'm SOOOO close and I never seem to get there. Good finds Pete. Joe

    Kemore Commercial

Reciept The reciept is for bags and not the machine. Too bad, I would have liked to see what this machine went for new. All in all its a well cared for machine that runs great. I'm glad to have it in my collection. To think, I almost let it go. I bought it after walking by it at least 5 times...
