The brand new Titan lightweight upright

A few questions Who makes Titan vacuums? Are they from China? They look high quality, are they sealed?

My new toy - Patriot P4 Hybrid

While these vacuums have many positives, such as universally-described high power, and supposedly clean air emissions (I've not seen any laboratory test results), they are woefully underwhelming for me... For a vacuum inspired by NASA, they have 1980's CORDED wand and hose hookups!? No thanks...

    Alex Taber..Electrolux history

@eurekaprince Thanks for that. So Electrolux Canada was established by Electrolux U.S.A. and not Electrolux AB of Europe? That clears up a lot of that confusion. Most are aware that by the 1930's Electrolux U.S. was making very different machines than those in Europe and from the Model XXX...

    Alex Taber..Electrolux history

One thing is for certain about Electrolux It sure has one of the most convoluted histories of any company. I thought I knew a lot about it, but there are still some things I'm not sure about. For one, Canada's Electrolux was, according to Canadians on here, completely separate from the U.S...

Ohhhh, Viking VACS I totally thought you meant Viking Range. Jeezus. lol I forget about the Viking vacuums. European only I believe? Yes, Wascomat is Lux. But now they seem to be changing to LaundryLux. Gotta get "lux" on there somehow it seems. Alliance also owns UniMac and Speed Queen.

Electrolux does not own Huebsch Huebsch is owned by Alliance Laundry Systems of Ripon, Wisconsin. PS I did not know that Electrolux owned Viking. Learn something new every day.

    New FB find

I like the color That blue/gray color always looks so good on vacuums, especially metal ones. I've always liked these Eureka models. Eureka always had some of the better looking machines, I think. Always smartly colored and great paint jobs with the polished metal around the switches.

    Electrolux 2100 leaky exhaust

I'm afraid there is little you can do Those machines were designed in the early 1980's before "sealed" systems were a goal to shoot for. The entire machine would have to be re-engineered on the inside to totally seal it. All the myriad connections and part joints would have to be redone. I...

    The PERFECT Electrolux Commercial upright

What on earth is happening here?? I keep seeing these wars of words in several threads. I have NO idea what is happening. I haven't seen anything that would warrant or start any of this. Some of us must've missed the party big time. I've seen a lot hate but no clue as to why. LOL Maybe it's...

New Kenmore Intuition bagged lift off style vacuum

May I ask a few questions about Cleva? Since Cleva is being discussed, I would like to know a few things if I can. Is Cleva the company that makes the Titan canisters also? Where are Cleva machines designed? Are they good quality, sealed vacuums? Is Cleva a Chinese company? I really like...

    Goodwill today

@human Thanks for trying to help but I'm not mechanically inclined and that video didn't look simple to me. Too many small parts and too much to get back in place. No way I'd attempt that. Mom's TechDrive pedal is strange. The pedals are still attached but the entire spindle pole they are...

    Goodwill today

That's the model we have My Mom bought that in 1999 for $1,100 dollars including the shampooer. She has never used the shampooer. Her TechDrive pedal broke off years ago and we don't know how to repair it. She doesn't want to fool with mailing it to the company. You cannot roll it without the...

    Electrolux Model L w/Cord Winder

Why does that look BRAND NEW!? Did someone refurbish it or was it like that when you bought it. Golly, what a nice machine. My Mamaw had the blue Model L with a cord winder and Mom had the bronze Model L with no cord winder. The only difference I see is the power switch was different on their...

Do you hate Hoover? This is the perfect ranting thread!

I must confess as well I never felt much toward Hoover either. I knew they existed and had a famous name, but their vacuums almost never thrilled me. When I was a kid in the 1980's my Mom was still using her Electrolux Model L that she bought while still living at home in 1963! I still remember...

    Any Aerus News?

@kirbysthebest I realized you weren't directing your post at me. No worries. :) I just wanted it clear I didn't want the thread to turn into a flame war. It's a 30 some year old commercial now and not worth getting mad over. But isn't it amazing how long the Aerus threads often get? The...

    Any Aerus News?

I just posted these for historical value I'm not attacking other brands nor am I making personal statements. I just wanted people to know how large and powerful Electrolux used to be. Many don't realize that Electrolux was always much bigger than Kirby or Rexair or any other direct sales vacuum...

    Any Aerus News?

Here's another Electrolux advertisement I forgot to include this one earlier. They rip Kirby big time in this one. I must admit, compared to most uprights at the time, if I had seen this, I would definitely have wanted it instead.

Eureka power nozzle canisters of the 1970's

I'm not exactly a Eureka expert, but I have always had a special place in my heart for their power head vacuums. Especially those green and burnt orange models. I really love the quintessential 70's design and colors...

    Any Aerus News?

@funeraldirector I'd be curious to know what you think the Guardian Platinum's power nozzle needs. Do you think it needs a more powerful motor to turn the brush roll? Do you think it needs longer bristles, stiffer bristles, more dense bristles, or some combination of those?

    Any Aerus News?

SEBO power nozzle You could use it but you would have to import Lux International's hose and wand system. I just don't like it. It looks mismatched. The shiny black cover on the power nozzle doesn't go with the machine. From an aesthetic point of view, it just clashes to me. As I said...
