I'd have to say that eBay is a major source for 95% of my machines as well, like Skip said! Especially considering that out here in the Land of Rust, vintage machines in decent shape worth getting are few and far between, from my experiences.

I'm curious, what about a machine like a Kenmore or Eureka canister, or even some Constellations with the switch in the front? Then would the suction end be considered the front? *scratching head*

The only machines I refer to as "tanks" are the Electrolux, Metro, etc., machines. All of the others I refer to as "canisters", including GE swivel-tops.
