    Hoover Model 65 Bag

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. That's my machine in the picture that David posted, and the picture does it LOTS of justice! Cleaned more parts today. All that's left now is to give the base & hood a bath, and replace the (ugly, black, long, 3-wire) cord with a white one. I'll be calling...

    Exclusively Eureka

Wow, that is awesome! I bet there aren't many of those around. If it wasn't so damn nasty I'd bid on it...I don't think doing a complete teardown/cleaning on that one would be as easy as a Convertible. Hopefully one in better shape will turn up soon. And that is a nice Eureka you have Skip; I...

    Hoover Model 65 Bag

Hi everyone, I recently bought a Hoover Convertible Model 65 on eBay, and it's not in the best cosmetic shape by any means. The first one, really, that I have had to do a complete teardown on in order for it to clean up well. Thankfully, the motor is in excellent shape under the "cake" of dirt...

    Hoover Model 69

You can still see them on eBay from time to time...I've been looking for the right one for a while! I want it because of the cool model number (LOL), as well as the colors, styling, and the fact that I have the preceding Model 68. I find the rare one first, and don't see the more common one at...

    New Dysons!! - Part 2

Wow, it exists in hotels too? The picture you posted is what I like to call "office dirt"; lots of it where I clean! It seems like there's an INFINITE supply of it in commercial settings, no matter how many passes you make. I hate office dirt with a passion and I'm pretty much convinced that...

    Infinity

Say NO to Euro-Pro! Those have to be the absolute cheapest, crappiest vacuums EVER. While this silly thing claims to have 24 cyclones, no mention is made that they appear to be test-tube sized and probably a marketing hype at the very most! No thanks...give me a REAL Dyson anyday!

Does anyone have a Dial-A-Matic I could buy?

I had a U6039 that I *just* sold on eBay, darn! Not to worry though, DAMs are fairly easy machines to come by and I'm sure someone will offer one to the club eventually.

    Air-Way Memorabilia

WOW, THAT'S what the Hamilton Beach version of the Rugmaster looked like, very cool!!! Thanks for sharing! The wands on this one don't appear to be as long as the later Eureka version, but it looks like there's no handle release either; I bet it would be fun trying to "schlep" that thing across...

A Vacuum Mini Meet in Hoover Mecca

Tom, looks like fun, and you certainly found some great machines! The Model 61 and bright orange Convertible really stand out! Has your son tried a "real vacuum" yet? And PICTURES do exist of "The Vault"? Wow...I'd love to see those!

    Cord rewind systems

I HATE it when I see a cord wound in a figure-8 pattern; I never have done that and never will. It doesn't look right to begin with, and I thought that it would put unnecessary stress on the cord!

    Hoover Commercial models

Jack, great collection, I love that commercial equivalent of the 160 as well! Would the 961 be similar to the 972, except (I'm assuming this since you mentioned the 541) with the tufted brushroll?

    New Dysons!!

I am another who prefer bags over bagless. Much easier to change (yes, even bottom-fill bags on uprights), no filters or bins to mess with, and you don't have to worry about emptying out after each use. We had a Wal-Mart/GE bagless upright a few years ago (which was probably Eureka-made), and...

    Another Hopeful eBay seller...

They're nuts; it's a shame you can't get a vintage Constellation for a decent price on eBay. And look at how much paint is worn away on the base...little-used machine, HA!

In a bit of a Hoover parts dilemma here...

Hi Tom & Fred, thank you for the kind offers. Tom, I sent you an email about the parts to the address in your profile. It seems that the guy who runs this particular store is in a BIG hurry to eliminate the old parts from the database. He carries few parts for older machines, and even receives...

In a bit of a Hoover parts dilemma here...

Addition to original posting I will also gladly take, instead of the parts above, 2 complete, working agitator assemblies; 1 Junior assembly and 1 Convertible assembly. The bearings do need to be in good shape, but I have my own brush strips, so it does not matter if the brush strips are worn...

In a bit of a Hoover parts dilemma here...

Hi everyone, After 6 months of waiting, I was finally able to get 4 new "grooveless" agitator ends for the U1025 Junior and 1020 Convertible beater bars to accomodate the new bearings, and was looking forward to installing them. However, when I actually went to install them, I encountered one...

Just wondering what's so special about this hose...

Marty, sorry you lost the hose, I know EXACTLY what it's like to lose an auction for something I REALLY need, usually vacuum or washer-related. The unfortunate truth is that one almost HAS to snipe in order to be a successful bidder. I did it manually before, and now I use AuctionSniper for...

This is what a NIB Dial-a-Matic looks like!

OMG, what a beauty, look at that shiny new plastic!!! I bet the handle is far from loose, and it has that "new vacuum smell" to it as well! Approximately how old is this model? It's amazing to see the quality of that machine alongside the mierda they're producing now. With the exception of the...

    My latest vacuum

Reggie, very nice Royals!!! It will be fun to see your new acquisition perform next year...I'll bring the Concept! :)

Fairly Rare Electrolux Came and Went on eBay

Damn... There was also an LXI on Houston Craigslist recently, not in the best shape but would have cleaned up nicely. Stupid me thought it was just another LX with an after-market wheel kit, but there was 1 picture where the cord reel swung open. Now of course the posting has been deleted. Had...
