I have made my peace with James Dyson..........for now

After emptying There doesn't seem to be an excessive amount of dust inside, but I only used it for regular cleaning, no very fine dust or icing sugar. It's hard to tell from the photos, but it's pretty clean in there.

I have made my peace with James Dyson..........for now

I make some comment about James in the unboxing video. I think I referred to him as Mr Smug. I do have a few (several dozen) light hearted digs at Mr D during the unboxing, but after using the DC40 throughout my house, I must say, I think the rift may be healed. Here's my first bin load which...

I have made my peace with James Dyson..........for now

Well I have given in and decided to try a new Dyson after seeing a 2015 DC40 for £185. I would have prefered the animal version, but it was not on offer and as far as I can tell, the only difference is the lack of the mini turbine head. First impressions are good. Far quieter than any other...

Which? artcile - "Should you trust the new vacuum cleaner energy labels"?

Thanks for that Nar. I don't think I'll be subscribing to Which? any time soon. I know the Sebo X1 had a best buy, but it was a long time ago.

    some one is useing alex

I'm sure we had something very like it in the first house I shared with my partner. It was soon ripped up and replaced with a nice neutral harvest beige carpet throughout the house.

Yes, the carpet is a dead giveaway. Whenever I see a Youtube thumbnail with that carpet, I know it's one of Alex's videos.

Dyson Radial Root Cyclone Doesn't Work Very Well!

Well Alex, you have put me off getting a new Dyson to test. I think you should make a video of your findings and make a noise on Dyson's Facebook page regarding the dust getting passed the cyclones and filter. Like Chris, I have never noticed any dust in the bag compartment of my Miele...

Air watts bagged vs bagless vacuums

I'm not sure if Dyson invented the term air watts as I have Hoover brochures dating from 1983 that specify the air watts of cleaners. I seem to remember the first generations of Sensotronics had 250 air watts generated by a 1000 watt motor.

Maytag (Hoover) WindTunnel Upright Vacuum U5450

I can't remember if the brushroll housing vibrates when upright as the last time I used it was for the demo video. It is stored at my Mum's at the moment. I haven't sorted my dusting brush yet as it is still squashed, but I recently bought another cleaner with a distorted dusting brush that was...

Maytag (Hoover) WindTunnel Upright Vacuum U5450

That brushroll can damage certain carpets if you leave it in one place for too long and I wouldn't recommend it on hard floors. Mine is in storage at the moment but I must get it out again as it is a very good machine. I have done an unboxing and review too. Oh, that dusting brush is probably a...

    EU Ratings

I don't believe they used a crevice tool. I read about the testing procedure somewhere and the crevice refers to a gap, such as the gap you get in between floorboards etc. The test measures not only the dust removed from the surface, but also how much dust is removed from the gap.
