Nice canister you got there. I have that same model and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Great performance and great versatility in my opinion. I also have an early 90's Kenmore Whispertone canister which is practically the same thing with a coplete toolset.

Robot vacs... So overated. They can't replace vacuuming, especially if you have carpets.

Alot of the vacuums these days have motors that are real junky and are hard to service. Since you said you bought your Meile about 7 years ago, its probably one of the good easy to service motors.
