Pics of some favorites to share...

While I am a Kirby collector, I can really appreciate your collection, it's fantastic! I'd love to hear what those old metal uprights sound like!

    2 speed kirby sanitronic motors

The older vacuums had a single speed safety switch. With the nozzle or hose attached it depresses the saftey switch allowing the motor to operate. The dual Sanitronic and newer have 2 buttons on the safety switch and depending if you are using a hose or a nozzle (or something else) it...

    Clean.....or much cleaner

I would like to see a modern version of a Kirby 500 series that has 3 or 4 amps but modern bag/filtration and improved nozzle design. It's smaller than the Gen2 or G-series Kirbys so it doesn't need 6-7 amps (or whatever they are exactly). On one of the facebook pages someone mentioned using a...

    Kirby Classic Omega bag patches?

I think I'd leave the pocket zip just for fun, I could leave a bottle of Odor-ific in there. :) The bottom of the middle seam actually has a small HOLE in it (no wonder my wife complained about it being "dusty"!) so might as well start there!

    Kirby Classic Omega bag patches?

I have Omega that has a non-original bag. It looks boring and I was wondering if there are any Kirby patches that you can sew or iron on? I'm also thinking of getting a full length zipper put on, would I then cut out the inner lining (if it has one)? I hate shakeout bags and it's not original...

    1974 KIRBY CLASSIC OMEGA

you can buy parts off ebay. Kirby Needs ebay store (kirbyneeds.com) has lots of stuff. For converting to paper bag you have a few options: Bag- as mentioned you could get someone to install a zipper on it, or just buy a different bag that has one already. Kirby had generic bags in black i...

Trying to find some info on a Kirby vacuum,Dual Sanitronic 50

This explains why my 510 has such terrible suction compared to my other (newer) Kirbys! I knew about the switch but didn't realize the older kirbys didn't have them. As for value, that is a bit of a tricky question. Vacuums are not really worth that much as "antiques" (the d50 is not really...

Uncommon Kirby Omega 1-CB cloth bag?

photo #2, my god the shine! I'd love to see more pics as that has got to be one of the best all-original Omegas out there! I have an Omega as well, but it's in very average condition, and it has a non-original bag from what I can tell. Similar in color to yours, but different pattern. I...

original cloth bags for vintage kirby

On ebay i see older bags sometimes with the emptor still attached. This would be the best way to go rather then trying to stretch the old bag and possibly break something.

Old School Photo of Me Circa 1990

Are the Royals small machines? (I have never seen one in person), or is it just an illusion because you are a child in the picture? You should go back to the school and offer a donation in exchanged for the vacuum if they still have it. lol

Kirby Heritage II - Found New Split Second

How many Split Seconds are there?? Wow considering how expensive the Sentria is (especially this day in age when people do not want to pay alot for a vacuum) they really could have come up with something better than that. And it should be standard equipment too. A little aluminum or chrome...

Kirby Heritage II - Cardboard & Plastic Attachment Cases

I am glad Kirby came out with the caddy. That is still a really cool find though!

Kirby Heritage II - Found New Split Second

@tolivac - I would think it couldn't be that hard to make a little adapter to go between the power connection on the vac and the power cord. With some velcro stick the Split Second AC adapter on the back of the vac handle.

Kirby Heritage II - Found New Split Second

Wow that is cool! I saw those little things before but had no idea they attach to the vacuum. Are you the guy that bought the Heritage II brand new? That is a beautiful machine.

    back pack vacuums...

My Kirby 510 has a strap and in the owners manual shows you how to wear it on your back. But that is really a joke more than anything! LOL

    New Guy here

Yes Kijiji is good. I bought my Kirby G5,G3, and Heritage 84 and 510 off of it. I made a "wanted" ad for Kirby vacs and have had good success! If you are into Kirbys I have bought tons of stuff from "Kirby Needs" ebay store. (kirbyneeds.com) Kent is good to deal with, knows his stuff, and has...
