Anyone have info on the new Kirby ?

I like how my Kirby Classic Omega has those 2 "hooks" on the top of the belt lifter, give you much more to grab compared to a G series. Bring back the hooks! The biggest problem I see with the Kirby design is having to remove the nozzle to attach the hose. figure out a way to put a hose...

    Kirby Classic iii restoration questions

If you have no experience with a benchtop buffer/grinding wheel I would not suggest going out and buying one without some training, they are very powerful and can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. I would suggest a buffing kit that fits on a drill such as this...

    1972 Shop Vac mdl 600

Wow shop-vacs were weird looking back then! Were they able to take the same kind of abuse? I have a 60L 6hp at home (bought last year) does all the tasks I throw at it, including hooking it up to powertools as a dust collector!

kirbys for sale!!! a D-80, classic omega, heritage 84.....

also... Aside from the basic attachments I mentioned, some things I am looking for: Tradition parts- I only have the main unit with emptor so I am seeking these parts for eventual restoration: Cloth BAG (either style, I can convert), complete handle (or just the blue handle part), complete...

Pushing a Kirby to its limits?

My Heritage 84 was packed with dirt and dust in the paper bag as well and the cloth bag (fill tube had cracks) and the motor sounded fine.

kirbys for sale!!! a D-80, classic omega, heritage 84.....

I am looking for the basic attachments (not the shampooer) for my H84 or Classic Omega or possibly HII (in that order), depending what you have. If you are willing to ship to Canada my postal code is N5P2H6 (Ontario) to calculate shipping. Send me an email with details and pics if you can...

Very nice! I can't wait to find a pre-Classic to ad to my Kirby collection.

ebay alert! Kirby Omega shampooer LNIB

If you ask me, this is a good price and great collectible. Although I have a Classic Omega I would never use the shampooer and it would just be clutter. If it was the hose and attachments I would have bought it already. lol...

    Kirby Heritage 84- removing emptor?

I got it off... Used a little dish soap where the 3 grooves are and tipped it on it's side. Waited 10 min and it broke free! (Glad I didn't resort to using any oil!)

    FINALLY, a New Vacuum

Great find, I'm jealous!! The Tradition is my favorite Kirby- years ago when i was a kid my dad did some janitorial work and I remember him using that machine. I thought it was the coolest looking thing and a real beast. It ended up in the tool shed to be forgotten. I dug it 20 years later...

    First Kirby in my collection

Omega Nozzle @kirby519 I agree with what you say. From a functional standpoint, I do like the smaller size of the G series (my Heritage II is not complete so I have never actually used it yet!) but as with classic cars that have big chrome bumpers and tail fins and all that good stuff, that is...

    This made me laugh!

I paid $150 for my G5 w/ attachments, which I think is fair based on local ads for G series vacs. Paid $20 for my G3 which has broken fan, dirty looking, but has attachments. $25 for my Heritage 84 with no attachments, but it's in pretty nice shape for it's age. I think $75 is fair for a...

    Kirby suction fans

The one I bought on ebay Says "Genuine Kirby OEM#119096G" it is creme colored. I did a google search for that number and come across various sites with creme colored fan pictures and they all say lexan?? Guess I'll find out (I'm selling that one anyways lol)

    Kirby suction fans

I just bought a G3 with a shattered fan The fan material is black plastic (I'm not sure if that is lexan or what?) when my new fan comes in the mail I think it might be white in color (at least it is in the ebay picture) would that be kevlar?

    G series Kirbys

Shop vacs have their place, as do brooms on bare floors. ;) As an auto detailer, I use shop vac for everything. You can't suck up PENS and crazy large objects with any upright vac, that's for sure! I do a bit of wood working as a hobby, I like to hook up the shop vac to my table saw or mitre...

    Best Decade for Vacuums

80's were great indeed for Kirby, but they were really just an improvement from the same design of the 70s (when I compare my Classic Omega and Tradition to Heritage and HII). I have no experience with pre-Classic Kirby so I can't make an opinion on that. I do like having paper bags, so once...

    G series Kirbys

The thing with the plastic fan is that if a large object gets stuck the fan will shatter and the motor can spin freely. If it was metal or something and seized up would that not damage the unit? Perhaps there could be some sort of torque thing (like on electric drills) that would disengage the...

    Kirby Heritage 84- removing emptor?

so you are saying it comes off the same way as a Kirby Classic or Tradition? On the H84 is it made of metal, or some sort of plastic with a coating or something? Just don't want to crack anything.
