I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

I figured you already had a couple of those around. Can you connect a 240 or 480 volt 3 phase AC load directly to that? Sorry, not a train expert. My HOA here would frown upon me having anything like that.

    Royal ry8300 wiring diagram.

The motor will have three wires...black, white, and orange (could also be yellow or red, I don't remember). You will have a cable coming down from the handle with black and white wires. Then you will have a cable going to the headlight with black and white wires. All three white wires go...

    free FITLER QUEEN 700

If it runs normally for a short time and then begins arcing and slowing down, that indicates that one of the carbon brushes is sticking...one of the less serious and more easily remedied issues that a motor can have. Try taking it apart and replacing (or just removing, cleaning, and...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Tolivac Sure it can. A VFD can take a single phase input (if you de-rate, for example my 10hp VFD can only run a 7.5hp 3phase motor off of a single phase input). A 25hp motor draws about 175 amps at single phase 240 volts. And the turbine is only about 2ft wide x 5ft long.

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Since that type of system is continuous duty, you wouldn't really have to ever turn it off. Why bother when you're just going to use it again tomorrow?   At $0.12/kWh, it would only cost you $3,600 per month in electricity. And in the winter, the turbine doubles as a cozy bedside heater and...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

See if the dual motor car wash vacuum scratches your itch. Sound deadening foam inside the dome will help quite a bit.    If you're left unfulfilled, then yes, in theory, a 25HP car wash vacuum could be run off a big enough VFD from your home's 200 amp electrical panel. You'd need some big...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Typical "house current" is 240 volt single phase 200 amps. You can run a lot of vac with that :D Even if you acquired a three phase turbine type car wash vacuum, that could be operated off of a phase converter or a VFD. But if you are talking about regular electrical outlets, that means you...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

The ones I have seen usually have two or three Lamb two stage motors (like the 116336 or the 119414) in parallel, giving them similar performance to an MD B/E2 or E3 (or the Filtex equivalent like TSP700L or TM285). They have plenty of room under the dome to play with different motor and control...

    Hoover Dimension 1000 NIB

WOW Anything NIB is so neat to see. The older, the better. Don't see a hose or power nozzle or wands...perhaps (hopefully) they are all in the bottom of the box. Worth the price, I would say. Surprised it's been for sale for so long.

    NuTone Central Vacuum

Loews Jersey Actually I have a pic saved (found online somewhere) of the machine at Loews Jersey! Shame about all the boxes and junk in front of it. Poor thing needs some TLC. If they don't recommission it and start using it again, let's hope they at least leave it be.

Fort Collins Craigslist: Eureka 500 Series Canister in Dark Green

When I was a kid, my great uncle gave me a model 702-A. Light blue, same "turtle shaped" body style (very apt description, by the way!), blue braided hose. It had the "cord wrap" handle. Wasn't this model called the "Princess"? I remember noticing that the hose was totally airtight, and my...

    NuTone Central Vacuum

Nice setup! I'm glad you were able to get a new machine, post-fix. I like your shelves full of spares also. I, too, would never want to be without a central vacuum system. They are how I make my living, but also how I clean my own home. 100+ vacuums here and the only one I'm inclined to pick...

Celebrity central vacs - Jayne Mansfield

Looks like Jayne Mansfield had an early Filtex "Perma-Vac" (no doubt the dual motor "Super Twin Special" model, perhaps more than one of them)! Only the early ones had inlets like that with a button but no red light; the light came about in the mid 1960s in case the home was so large that you...

Better vacuum really slowly, otherwise all that's going to do is give the dust mites a nice suntan.

    What Are These Antique Attachments?

I remembered seeing in my copy of "Vacuum Cleaning Systems" a reference to a compressed-air carpet renovator with an external bag and thumbed through the book just now. Lo and behold it mentions the Hotel Astor specifically as having had an installed compressed-air cleaning system! See above...

    HOSES AND ADAPTERS

There are tons (just search "vacuum cleaner adapter" on Google, Amazon etc and you'll see what I mean) but you need to know what you're trying to adapt to/from. a 1 1/4" (32mm) male handle end is considered "industry standard" and therefore "industry standard" tools will have 1 1/4" ID. Some...
