    Neat little thrift-store Sanyo

Cleaning the huge filter I have one of these machines and it's great! The motor is quality made and quiet, too! To clean the filter you simple hold it over a pail and turn the inner ring clockwise using the short white stem which makes a clicking sound and causes it to tap rapidly thus shaking...

Vacuums you find or found to be scary?

Can you guess what it is? When I was a kid, our neighbor across the side street would entertain us kids particularly during the summer months. After all, she was recently retired after 43 years as a kindergarten teacher and had packed her front porch with everything she had taken home from her...

    Barn find Kirby G5

Simply Turbo360... Simply use quad-grade (0000) steel wool-DRY first as though you are polishing it. It will remove several layers of dirt. This is for the aluminum parts only. [It will make for easier polishing later.] Then use an air compressor if you have one or a blow dyer or exhaust end...

I have an odd fascination with newer stuff?

Amen, Texaskirbyguy! You said a mouthful! Now, I am SURE I am NOT alone here! How many of you also collect kitchen gadgets? Recently (like just a few years ago--LOL) I also realized [though I didn't really want to admit it], that I had a fascination and love for anything kitchen, from nice...

    Rattling Noise From A G3

Rattling noise That sounds normal to me-at least from I can tell from listening to a recording. As long as it propels forward and reverse it should be fine. Often times the sound is emitted from the transmission winding down. I really wouldn't worry about it as long as it seems to operate just...

    Mixer

Look at Consumer Reports for... Look at Consumer Reports for May 2020, page 18 for a mixer report. The Kitchenaid Classic model still comes out ahead of most. Although most orbital mixers are pretty much the same, none of them to do a stellar job at everything. My Sunbeam mixers will out...

    Mixer

By the way.... Kenny, Look under the inside of the neck of the mixer. There may be a small rectangular sticker with purple-ish numbers on it. This will have the date code on it.

    Mixer

Kitchenaid mixer information from the horse's mouth KENNY......here is revised information from a post I submitted in 2014..... I recently learned something about KA Mixers! Not only do I collect vacuum cleaners but my second love is mixers. And, who am I kidding, any and all other small...

    Bissell ProLite model 3561-2

Hey guys! I have a Bissell ProLite (3561-2) that baffles me. Something is very odd with mine at the top of the bag. It appears there should be something along with the screw anchoring the bag to the handle but I am not sure. When I got this machine, I believe this small 1-inch black plastic...

Calling All Electrolux Service Experts! Electrolux 1205

Pertaining to the after-market hoses... Guys, there is nothing wrong with the after-market hoses. I prefer them to the poor quality of the older Lux cloth or saran hoses that were lined with rubber which obviously did not stand the test of time. The after-market hoses like Tom G. said, differ...

    Vintage Hose Ends Removal

Is there an easy way to remove vintage hose ends from the hose blank? I have an Air-Way model Mark II with the saran hose. The hose looks great but has low suction to say the least. Sorry guys, I see no reason to keep a bad hose for display purposes only and I am not interested in repairing it...

    Cleaning ceramic tile floors

Believe it or not.... A solution of bleach, water, and some dish soap (very little-like a couple of drops) will brighten that grout up like you wouldn't believe. I have been doing this for years with great results.

    Miele U1 - Red

Way over-priced ...in my opinion and way over-engineered! More clumsy than a Kirby and just as heavy if not heavier. Miele has a big ass when it comes time for the price of their parts. Overall, I am not impressed with my S7210. Glad I never purchased it new!

    Just acquired a Heritage 1HD

Just and FYI about the grey bag with red "K's" Human... I believe that the bag that came with your Heritage was used as the Kirby universal bag replacement at that time. I had a Classic III that was redone by Kirby and that is what they put on in when I requested the paper bag setup...
