Two prong "pig-tail" versions, Thermax AF-1

myles_v The filter tube is in place.  The dust is less noticeable on the black foam filter, I will say that.  The back of the filter look brand new and I suspect that it can handle a lot of dirt before it will lose much airflow.  I also have soft water, so it isn't an issue of saturated water.

Two prong "pig-tail" versions, Thermax AF-1

Blackheart I'll order one and see if it does the trick.   By the way, here is what a white electrostatic filter looks like after cleaning the first floor of my house.  There definitely is stuff getting past the water.  I think that the design allows for large air bubbles than say a Rainbow

Two prong "pig-tail" versions, Thermax AF-1

Happy New Year!        A number of months back I got a Thermax AF-1 for...free.  It is a long story for another time, but I have a question and this forum is the best pace for it!   The Thermax uses a Hoover designed power nozzle and its power connector is in most every way the standard...

    SMI Filter Magic Water Matic

I posted a similar question and also posted pictures showing the filters (in place) on a SMI 2008 edition and a Watermatic V. Both threads should be in the contemporary forum (I put them there since they aren't that old).

    Fairfax Wet Pick-up Set up.

I just saw this! First ball valve. No paper filter or bag (but a silverking polypropylene disk filter is a great idea since it will not fall apart when wet. I use them on my Fairfax when shampooing). Keep the cloth washable filter in place. Keep the white electrostatic filter in place. Hop...

Your Opinion: Most Powerful Electrolux/Aerus Lux to look for

hepa bags completenutt,        I have used VAC bags before, but went with some different hepa bags this time.  I also ordered a vinyl hose and a charcoal post bag filter.        Just for the heck of it, what motor would one use to hotrod one of these old electroluxes?

Your Opinion: Most Powerful Electrolux/Aerus Lux to look for

completenutt Wow, that was a solid example and it's on the way to me :) Hopefully it works well.  If not, then I may have Stark's vacuum hotrod it or something.  Where did the tools store on these older models?  Off to the side or on the wand if you had a holder?   Thanks!  Feel free to...

Your Opinion: Most Powerful Electrolux/Aerus Lux to look for

The Guardian Platinum Thanks for the replies!    I do know the current Guardian Platinum is one of the most powerful models they ever made, but my question is more about what models are often out on the used market (and for a decent price).  I know Platinums are out there, but they still...

Your Opinion: Most Powerful Electrolux/Aerus Lux to look for

Everyone,        Here's a question for you: What are some of the most powerful Electrolux/Aerus Lux models that have been made that you can find on the used market?    There, simple as that!  The only model I have touched in the flesh is Guardian Encore (the white and blue kind us R...

Brand New Customized 2018 Fairfax Canister unboxing

Blackheart,        A simple pistol grip is a lot better in my hands than a lot of the "fancy" grips in my book.

Don't pay attention to the prices. You want to communicate with the owner. I didn't pay that price.

Brand New Customized 2018 Fairfax Canister unboxing

Tolivac,        About the three prong cord, Fairfax sells an optional 5 gallon bottom and extra large bags just for that!  The cord is 50 feet.  He said he could shorten it if I wanted.        As for the upgrades, I spoke with the owner over email for a bit, asking about this and that. ...

Brand New Customized 2018 Fairfax Canister unboxing

Everyone,        I choose "fairfaxclass" as my name because it is one of my favorite machines.  It is also the only one I bought new from the manufacturer.   I did buy my Avalir new in box, but it was from a guy who got them from a defunct dealer.  Anyhoo, earlier in 2018 I got my Fairfax "A...

2018 Filter Queen Demonstration to PCI finance

n0oxy,        I do believe that it is a high speed, single stage motor though I am not sure that the quality is necessarily poor.  From discussions I have seen on vacuumland, it has great cfm.  I want to say I saw somewhere that the motor is rated at 850 hours.  I'm not sure how solid that...

2018 Filter Queen Demonstration to PCI finance

Everyone,        I found this video on Youtube of the Filter Queen company doing a demo for the company that does the financing for folks who buy it.  Near the end, there is an interesting part where the shove the Filter Queen full of toilet paper and baking soda.  Pretty interesting overall.

What are the best generic/stand alone vacuum tools?

If you find a vacuum that is missing its tools and you know you can't get the originals, what are your go-to options?  Be it a set or individual pieces.  Some generics can feel really cheap!   I will say that I LOVE the Rainbow dusting brush and will often go for it or a copy if I need one. ...

My Watermatic V and Filter Magic 2008 Edition

Hello everyone!        I ended up getting two Watermatic Vs and a 2008 Filter Magic.  One Watermatic is going to my sister, the other two are mine, including one complete shampoo kit.  I plan on making a video showing a solid comparison, including performance.  I do recall that the 2008...

Question: Door to door bagless upright

fan-of-fans   That is another concern!  If I owned a vacuum company, I would try to use standardized filter sizes and bags to make it easy for customers in the future in the event that they couldn't get the real deal.   Of course, no company seems to think that way!
