Think I have been converted to Dyson

Well bought a new motor and some other bits such as filter cover and a sole plate for underneath... Fitted it all myself and good as new. Bought from local vac shop that sells parts. £45 for all the bits it's an aftermarket motor but machine will be like new now. I also bought a new cyclone...

Think I have been converted to Dyson

Can get a non genuine from a vac store for £36 or a genuine one for £45. Ebay they are £20 but not sure if they worth the money, av stripped it down and the fan nut was loose at one end and the armature seems all rough. Dunno what to do?

Think I have been converted to Dyson

Awful smell of burning just tried to get into the casing and I think the parts of the motor are grinding against each other. The motor is really not smooth to turn at all like its caved in on its self. I took the post filter out and there was a bit of back plastic that looks like its been spat...

Think I have been converted to Dyson

When the motor powers down it normally takes 4-5 seconds till you hear it stop now it is stopping within 2 seconds and makes a grinding sound when turned on. Like the bearings have seized.

Think I have been converted to Dyson

Yes it is. I replaced the cyclone to one of the improved ones to avoid the clogging and no brittle plastics on this one. I've heard the cheap motors overhear easily and trip out a lot? The motor feels stiff and I could smell this smell recently particularly when turning off and back on straight...

    DC07 motor seized up :(

Do the clutches fail on them though? I have read they do? The dc14 is as powerful as the dc07 though? Very impressed with suction on it.

    DC07 motor seized up :(

Seen 3 dc14's from Dyson outlet on eBay.... There's an "animal" "exclusive" & an "overdrive" version. Can't really tell from description which one to go for. I have a cat so the turbine tool would be useful on both the animal and overdrive version. However I also have 50/50 mix of wooden floors...

    DC07 motor seized up :(

Yes but dyson offered me a dc14 for £160 brand new with 5yr warranty. I already changed the cyclone on this dc07 for a non matching colour one.

    DC07 motor seized up :(

Well the dc07 I kindly got for free off of someone on the forum has now blown its motor. Last few days has been an electrical smell when first turning on and today well it sounded like the motor has seized. Motor all frozen up and bad smell of electrical burning. What are my options - another...

Think I have been converted to Dyson

Hi Shaun I've got spare tools from eBay on the way in the post for the Dyson. £1 each lol. The Kirkby turbo brush doesn't have a pipe to attach to the Dyson u see it needs a pipe to go into it. So I need some sort of small black pipe that can secure into place in the Dyson and then into the...

Think I have been converted to Dyson

Think I have been converted to Dyson

Based on my previous post saying which should I keep the DC07 or the boss. I think I am now a convert to Dyson. Really nice machines to use not impossible to push across carpet and good pick up on the wooden floors and doesnt flick bits everywhere which a lot of uprights do when used on hard...

Keep the Dyson DC07 or the Electrolux "the boss lite"

Well I used the boss the other day to vacuum the kitchen where the cat had tipped cat litter everywhere. The brushroll obviously crushes up the cat litter but most of it ended up in the motor prefilter!! So think the dyson is going to be kept after I have got the new parts :)
