New in box ComVac 1300 (x2)...

Selling... I’m not sure if I want to sell the second one just yet. I’ve only had them a few hours... one is going on display and the other is staying in the box. If I do decide to sell one, I’ll certainly let you all know.

    500 series thrift fond

Les What a great find! I’ve recently come across a 510 that I’m currently working on (your find is in much better shape than mine). Please post more pictures of it. Do you plan on restoring it fully?

    Project 510

Texaskirbyguy I remember reading the progress of your 505 - that’s a model I’d LOVE to have! I’m glad you posted the link because there’s info in there which really will help me along, thank you! I’m really looking forward to having this machine complete. I haven’t had a sad Kirby in a...

    Project 510

Hello! Some of you may remember when I posted about a D80 I brought back to life. At that time I was not aware how well it would come out, so I only had a couple of “before” pictures. This time, I have several “before” pics of this 510. I like to call this project “The Sad Kirby Diary —- A...

    Need Assistance in Diagnosing D80

My own experience... Well... I had a similar issue with it running perfect until i took it apart for polishing. For me, I wound up discovering that I reinstalled the front bearing in reverse (very stupid, yes I know, but it happened). Also, bad safety switch is a very real culprit. It’s...

    Eureka Roto-Matic (800-A) replacement bags

I was wondering if anyone knows of any aftermarket options for disposable bags for this machine. I have a pack of genuine Eureka replacement bags, but I know those won’t last forever, and they’ve been discontinued. I saw online some very very very similar Sanitaire BV-3 bags that look like...

    Avalir

Avalir I came across a flawless Avalir 2017 in July for $129. I grabbed it right away and I really enjoy using it. It did not come with the attachments, BUT... I also have a new in box Avalir 2 and have used its shampooer and other accessories. The shampooer does have some slight differences...

    JohnnyL8 back at it...

I’ve seen this guys videos. They always give me a chuckle. Start watching them from the beginning and you can see he has contradicted/invalidated some of his arguments. I’ve never bothered to comment on any of his videos, I just figure he will eventually become so crazed he will say something...

Finalized D80 fill tube/replaceable bag setup...

Vacuumdevil I just installed a modern style replacement bag. I used the G3 bag as a test just to see how easily it’s installed/removed, etc etc etc. It works so much better with the newest style Micron Magic bags. I know how silly it sounds, but I’ve wanted for so long to be able to use my...

Finalized D80 fill tube/replaceable bag setup...

Les... Give me a couple of days and I’ll send you a schematic of what I did. I’m really happy with how it all came out. I don’t have any tools to precisely measure things, but general tests with throwing dust under area rugs, etc, I see zero difference in performance. Being the weirdo in the...

Finalized D80 fill tube/replaceable bag setup...

Thank you! It’s taken me quite a while to find the right fittings that will fit both the emtor opening and fill tube (with good seal). Once I had that figured out, I had the bag modified. A note to the more hardcore D80 folks... I have a fully original NOS D80 bag, and my fill tube can be...

Finalized D80 fill tube/replaceable bag setup...

I’ve been working on this for a while, and it’s finally complete. I’ve installed a fill tube with special fittings to create a good seal inside the emtor, and today I picked up from the seamstress the cloth bag with a zipper installed so I can easily access and replace the bag. Did my test with...

    My first Royal

Royalfan That link made my day! Getting rickrolled is exactly what I needed. Last night a pipe burst and damaged several things, just finished cleaning it all up and saw this post. No vacuums were harmed in the flooding, but there was damage to some of the boxes to my older machines - the Kirby...

    Sanitaire project

A co worker of mine saw a little Sanitaire I had and told me that it was the identical vacuum that she grew up with and that she was always terrified of it. Well, long story short, she ended her fear of it and I ended up giving it to her. She’s a very artsy person, and she told me that she was...

    Couple of “new” machines!

Broomvac I have the same Royal HV. It’s a great machine and as a servant of 2 cats, it’s super handy to use on my bedding, as my two royal highnesses insist on total comfort when sleeping, lol. I’d love to know around when those HB vacs were manufactured. I’ve tried to look up that info, but...

    Couple of “new” machines!

Beautiful! I guess part of the reason I like it so much is because I wasn’t expecting very much from it. Once I switched it on, I saw how well it performs considering what it is. Yours is super cool and very nice! Thank you for sharing!!! For hand vacs, I have this and a baby blue Royal...

    Couple of “new” machines!

Hand vac I thought that at one point it had been painted. But looking online, there’s others the same color/texture. I can’t find it’s era, but it’s a neat little machine and it works quite well.

    Couple of “new” machines!

I received my first Hoover Constellation today, and it’s been a lot of fun using in the short time I’ve had it. I understand the appeal of them now that I have one. Also, a little Hamilton Beach hand vac. Strong suction and in great shape!
