    Electrolux Model 30

Hose and carbon brushes Could anyone tell me if I can covert a Kirby vinyl hose to use with this? Can I get the Lux ends to fit? Any directions on how to replace the brushes?

    Electrolux Model 30

Thanks I forgot to include this picture. This was in the box as well. There is no date on the box. Any idea about what year this machine was made. It may have been just a conglomeration of different parts from different years and hard to determine a specific year. Are the carbons...

    Electrolux Model 30

My parents found this while cleaning out my Aunt's house. They were going to trash it. I'm positive it is a rebuilt machine, but any history on this would be appreciated. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The machine still runs strong, but there is no hose and the carbon brushes need...

Wax Charles, I have an Electrolux polisher as well. What type of wax do you use? How do you apply it before you polish? Tim

    Today's Find

Thanks Tom I understand how that bag set up would work now. I'm sure those bags are rare and hard to find now, so I'll just stick with my modification. It seems to work pretty well for now. I see how the blower port works now. It just didn't look like the hose would fit, but it does...

    Today's Find

Tolivac, I considered buying Shop Vac bags, but just thought I would try something I already had. The Kirby bag is probably not big enough, but it works well for now. I'm still wondering about if needs an exhaust filter. Also, is there a way to use the hose as a blower?

    Today's Find

I found this old treasure at a thrift store today. It looked pretty sad. The hose had come unscrewed from the machine end cuff. Someone had taped it with blue painters tape thinking that the hose had split I guess. It was very dusty, but the inside was nearly spotless. The power nozzle was...

I think this one nearly made the FedEx man keel over.

Eureka Nice Eureka vacuum. We had me like that years ago. Great little vacuum. It came from KMart in the late 1980s. Ours had the wooden brushroll. I always wished it had the metal one. What model number is it? I may have to start searching for one. Tim

Advice Regarding CWP Brush Roll and Hoover Convertible

I have mixed feelings about these I have a u4387 from the 1980s. I replaced its brushroll with a CWP and find that it works very well. The carpet looks very well-groomed and the sound it makes is very pleasing. It is my opinion that it doesn't agitate as well as the original. I would probably...

    Royal Upright

Ben Thanks for the info on the Royals. As for the ones in the thrift store--that was a couple of months ago. I'm sure they've been trashed by now. However, I will snap a of one the next time I see one. Tim

    Royal Upright

Royal 8000 Thanks for the reply. So I guess my goal would be to look for a 6 amp motor? These older ones seem hard to find. I have found a couple of commercial ones in thrift stores, but they were so abused and in such sad shape that I left them there. Tim

    Royal Upright

I am looking to buy a Royal all metal upright. I'm not sure I want to buy a new Everlast model because the reviews of them state that they are extremely loud. What model should I look for that would be a great deep cleaner, but not overly loud? Tim

    1980s Hoover Convertible

New pic Here is a pic of the entire vac. I think the bag has been replaced. Is this a decent vacuum ? Is it worth fixing up? It needs a good cleaning, new brush roll, and a new cord.
