    Are ST Style Bags Good

I would suggest using Hoover Type-Y bags with that Type-A filltube, but, I got a generic Eureka bag from a friend that was used on a Hoover with such a setup, and the dirt went right through the Type-Y bag and left a slight stain on the cloth bag, so, yeah you are definitely better off with that...

    My new vintage hoover

I still find it funny seeing the old BS546 plugs over there, I like those better than our current plugs, they're not as painful when you step on the pins on a plug that has been left on the floor facing pins-up... :P The vac shop back in Colne where we used to live had one of these 375s, I took...

    Are ST Style Bags Good

I like the Juniors, it's probably the only Hoover I actually like, they're light, they're manoeuvrable, the two I now have only use 250 Watts, and because they were a very common vac here, spares are everywhere (most made by Qualtex these days), so they're easily maintained to keep them going...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

Erm, have you actually looked at the tiny little gap between the bumper and the rug plate where the holes would go? Do you honestly think that anyone would see small holes in such a narrow gap? And have you looked at a Tristar PN with those very holes in them (at the front of the rugplate no...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

How about just drilling a series of holes at the front of the vac as close to the rug nozzle as possible? :&#92 That way the air is directed under the brushroll where the roll is sweeping & beating, just like on Tristar power nozzles, so the air is assisting in the sweeping of dirt up towards...

And with the outer bag (made from an old pair of my trousers) covering the Kirby bag:

How about a Hoover Junior with Kirby bags? :P (same filltube assembly as the 'taire above)

    Are ST Style Bags Good

I modified my ZC-880 to take Kirby bags, it's not hard to be honest, just attach a Heritage-style filltube to the F&G tube with a couple of zip-ties, and the top can be either the Style-3 or the F-style adaptor, I used a long zip-tie to hang it from the 'taires bag-spreader dowel (gotta love...

    Old and New

All you need is a Sanitaire and a Tristar CXL really, the Sanitaire for good, hard carper-beating deep cleaning, and the Tristar for cleaning between the Sanitaire's runs and above-floor cleaning, leaving all the other vacs for just playing with... :)

    Are ST Style Bags Good

That pictured bag is an F&G version, but will of course happily take an ST tube, and looks nice on blue-line Sanitaires... :) There is/was a seller on ebay with all three colours of the new-style ST bag assemblies, they come in Red, Blue and Black/dark Grey, as per the F&G bags, but all have...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

    Quick pic, the S663 and the ZC-880 with the 8-position Dial-a-naps fitted... (and don't believe the 840 Watts, the S663 now has a 120v 5.5A plastic-topped motor in it, so it's only 660 Watts, though I do have a for-parts 7A motor, I just don't think it's necessary... :P )

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

"I also think the 8 position height adjustment knob is a Hesco, parts no. E-268331 (the 8-pos. knob that screws to the base) and either E-380532, E-143021 or E-143022 (the cap that fits over the knob, comes in White or black, not sure about the other one though, call or email Hesco for more...

    Are ST Style Bags Good

I got a complete bag assembly for my Electrolux C12, the double-zip job with the ST filltube, and that thing is just as insane as it was with the shakeout bag, and the bags are just the best, they just breathe so well while filtering to a high standard, they're just brilliant... :) And be...

Is the Aerus (electrolux) brand disappearing?

The Tristar bag you just lift out and toss out, unlike bags with a small opening where if you squeeze it you get a dust cloud poof out of it, the Tristar bags don't have that issue, I do tend to fold the top and roll it down with mine though before lifting out, but it's no more fiddly than any...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

A simpler modification: Replace the 6-position Dial-a-nap knob with an 8-position Dial-a-nap knob, that gives you them two heights that are inbetween the "too high" and "too low" ones on the 6-pos. one, works great for me... :)

Sound damping sheets for your vacuum - has anyone tried it?

I don't think Miele use anything like those sheets you show in that link, when I stripped my S316i after I bought it, I found that it's sound absorbing material was basically shredded recycled material, as used for padding in things like cheap mattresses, sofas and other low-cost padded...

Is the Aerus (electrolux) brand disappearing?

I don't think Aerus did themselves any favours when they split from the parent Electrolux company in Europe, they could have changed their name back then and had been a success, being completely separated from the Electrolux name and not having to return it to the rightful owner a few years...
