I think Made a post about this awhile ago. But anyways as the owner of the current model I can tell you that it is a regular single stage brushed motor like the ones found in the new aerus vacs. I don't know how anyone could confuse it for a brushless or two stage. Colby

It's pretty easy to take that top cover off. There is a screw up front and under the blower door I believe and the top comes right off. It's probably stripped though
