    Dual-motor upright vacuums

I think dual motor machines are great too. In addition to the flexibility they generally allow for a sleeker or slimmer design. I have a Versamatic that I use at the Hotel and it’s a beast, cleans well, is easy to service and the thing just won’t die. The Discovery is a great machine too

What brand or type of bags do you prefer?

I always like to use OEM bags. I prefer cloth hepa bags if they are available. Sometimes with older machines or uncommon ones you have to bojack the bags a bit.

    Kirby Avalir 2

A Sentria is the newest that I have used, when I got mine I noticed a big difference between it and my G6. The handle makes a big difference and it feels like it has quite a bit more power. My Sentria is a updated one, I think it’s pretty much like the Sentria II expect the colors.

    Vacuum for Elderly Woman

My grandma has a Windtunnel Air that she really likes. It’s just the right size for her and it’s lightweight. They clean pretty well too, it would probably would be better than that Bissell. An Oreck would be a good choice too.

    Another Decent Machine Discontinued

Always sad to see a machine with such a long lineage be discontinued. They do pop up over here in the states from time to time, I found one at a good will. https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?29498

    Kirby Avalir 2

I think it looks very nice, I’m glad they moved away from the Grey colors in the Sentria and Ultimate G. How is the performance compared to your other Kirby’s? I see Sentrias for sale all the time around here but I rarely see Avilars. When I do they are always $$$. Just gotta keep hunting!

    Kenmore by Hoover

I seen this older Kenmore badged Hoover the other day and thought I better have it. I wasn’t aware that Hoover had built vacuums for Kenmore. Anyways cleaned it up and throw a cloth hepa bag in it and it runs great, except that the belt broke half through cleaning the apartment. I’m not sure...

    2007 Hoover U5753-900 WindTunnel Bagless

I have that exact machine too. The twin chamber bagless system isn’t my favorite design but overall I think it cleans wells. I like the color of it, it has a metallic sparkle to it.

    Rainbow Air purifier mode.

I acquired a two speed rainbow a while back, I had wanted a two speed so I could use the air purifier mode all the time. I have allergies and sinus problems and using it to vacuum is wonderful so why not let it run all the time. The problem is now that I have one the low speed on my unit seems...

The FilterQueen 360 motor is smaller!

I will have to look at my 360 and see what size it has. I don’t use it much, i only got it with the unit and hose. The PN port shows signs of arcing so I’m guessing that’s why the previous owner got rid of them. I have used it with a non matching PN set up but I vastly prefer my chocolate brown...

    My new Panasonic MC-V5248

Very sharp looking machine. Panasonic always made such good vacuums. I have an older Jet-Flo similar to the one in reply 3, it’s one of my favorites!

Has anyone talked about the Hoover Preferred Lineup?

I have never seen these before. Where they sold exclusively through a certain retailer? Or was there anything else that set then apart other than the color and name?

    Pair of Windtunnel V2s

Thank you for the link...honestly I hadn’t looked yet. I thought the machines where suppose to come new with the adapter, maybe they didn’t. I know some of these parts on these odd balls Hoover’s from this era are NLA and after the experience trying to get the bag carrier for my Dutchtech I...

    Pair of Windtunnel V2s

A while back I had picked up the green one locally. Unfortunately it was almost trashed. It ran but was absolutely full of all sorts of nasty smutz and who knows what else. I cleaned it up the best I could but these are not the easiest machines to take apart. In a stroke of luck I did find...

    1994 Panasonic MC-5501 Ultra Pro

My versamatic has two cord hooks to wrap it but also had a place to loop up under the handle. Much easier and faster to use it that way.

    Oster kitchen center cookbook request

I have this cookbook...Do you have a kitchen center as well do you just want the cookbook?

    1994 Panasonic MC-5501 Ultra Pro

This would have been geared towards the commercial market. Looks like there is no bare floor switch or metal brush roll. Commercial vacs tend to be no frills and aimed to keep costs down, hence the reusable bag. Does it have a heavy duty three prong cord or a regular two prong? Also curious...

    Oreck Dutchtech Bag Holder

Haven’t rounded up a bag holder yet but I bojacked something together so I could use it. I have to say it’s a very impressive machine. It’s extremely quiet, the sound of the air moving is louder than the motor. The power nozzle is almost silent as well. Some interesting notes... It has a...

    Modern Day Installed

Perhaps this needs to be in another thread but those that have a “portable” central vacuum system I would be interested in seeing your set up. Could be a fun little project to rig something up. Cameron

    Thrift find

That red sanitaire looks sharp. I have a blue residential line Two speed sanitaire that is a dream to use. I need to convert it to the ST bags, I’m sure that would really open up the power in it. I believe it uses a VG I. I haven’t used it in a while I should grab it next time I’m at the storage...
