    WTB Antique Eureka at Convention

Those are some nice machines, Tom. How much for a burgundy model M and that Hoover in front in the second picture? I've always wanted an early 20's Hoover. I have a 700, but it's in pretty tough shape.

    WTB Antique Eureka at Convention

Luke, Thank you! Tom, if you could post a picture of the machine for sale (unless it's the one I took a picture of last year) and a price, I'd appreciate it.

    WTB Antique Eureka at Convention

Tom, yes I remember seeing that Eureka at the Museum last year (I bought the Kenmore Deluxe and Electrolux XXX from you), but unfortunately there is no way possible for me to make it to Missouri this year. Unless somebody from your club wanted to deliver it to Chicago, there's just no way. Thank...

    Kirby Sentria Instruction video

I call those videos The "Kirby Bloopers." Because of all the inconsistenies in the machines.

    2 Broken Kirby G3's

I remember When I first got my G3, the shift between forward and reverse was extremely ungraceful. Very jerky. I took it apart and replaced the block with one with a spring. IIRC, the old block did not have accommodations for a spring at all. Now it shifts very smoothly. Concerning the handle...

Why no High/Low switch on new Kirby's

Kirby Avalir I saw an Avalir at a thrift store yesterday. I would have gotten it, but I didn't have $400. Still a tremendous bargain, though.

Why no High/Low switch on new Kirby's

The reason is Customers would tend to use their machines on low all the time, while it was intended for small areas. Because the cooling fan was not running fast enough, the motor would overheat.

The Early Television Foundation in Hilliard, OH is working on rebuilding CRT's, but they're not there yet.

Webmaster, If you could delete all replies #35 and newer, that would be super. Or better yet just delete the whole thing.

    Vintage TV's anyone?

"I'd love to retrofit an old set with a modern hd tv screen" WHY‽‽‽ You would RUIN that vintage TV! I just do not understand all this crap about how technology has progressed with TV's. The picture on my 1966 RCA Victor is PERFECTLY FINE!

    Vintage TV's anyone?

Oops, I thought it said Trans Oceanic, but upon closer inspection it appears to say Stromberg Carlson?

    Vintage TV's anyone?

Thank you, Countryford You have some magnificent sets there! I love that roundie on picture 11 of the first set. It looks like a Philco or Sylvania? And the Zenith with the built in Trans-Oceanic must be very rare! I've never seen one.

    Vintage TV's anyone?

You can keep your PLASTIC, MADE IN CHINA, THROWAWAY OLED thing, and I'll keep my QUALITY, MADE IN USA, BUILT TO LAST set. I have NO PROBLEM with not having WIFI connectivity or WALL MOUNTABILITY. My TV's will stay where a TV is supposed to be. ON THE FLOOR. And by the way, I was GIVEN a Vizio...

    Vintage TV's anyone?

If somebody handed me an OLED TV, I'd have a tough choice to make. Sell it or smash it. The title of this thread is "Vintage TV's, anyone?", not "Old TV's suck and modern ones don't."
