    Riccar 8955

I'd love to find one of these. I only have two Tacony machines in my collection - a 2003 Simplicity Series 6, and a 2005 Synergy X9.1, and I like them both. I want to get a few more Tacony machines though. I really like them.

    Panasonic MC-5510 Servicing

I got this machine way back in September or something, and never did anything with it. Decided to pull it out and work on it today to finish up the weekend. All I had to do was clean it, and it works perfectly! I wouldn't put it in commercial service for 5 minutes though. Very flimsy plastic...

How to clean and polish a Vintage Kirby

Blue Magic I have been using Blue Magic polishing cream for years now, and it never ceases to amaze me. I decided that I wanted to use my Sentria to shampoo wall to wall carpeting today, but before I did, I wanted it to be polished. I machine polished the Sentria four years ago, but it has...

    My new Kirby Sentria II!

Airflow Yes, the power in this machine is tremendous. I used it on my carpet, and I was very impressed. That updated Mini-Emtor must really help with the airflow. I also got the handle polished.

    My new Kirby Sentria II!

Got this for a song this morning. It was caked it nasty gross crap all over, so I took it totally apart, and gave it the spa treatment. I took from 9:00 this morning, to 3:00 this afternoon, but the Sentria II is back together and running absolutely perfect. http://https//youtu.be/_kLkyR8cZ5I

Spa time for a Hoover Portable!

Radarange Yep, that's what it is. It's my only one though. They're extremely hard to find.

Spa time for a Hoover Portable!

I picked this up at the Goodwill the other day for a whopping $5.09. Couldn't pass it up despite it being filthy. Stood at the sink in the workshop for three hours scrubbing it down with Dawn dishwashing soap, hot water, and a sponge. I put in a new type J bag, and gave it a spin. It runs, but...

    My Kirbys

Beautiful Kirby's and a beautiful TV! Magnavox isn't it? I happen to love old 60's and early 70's TV's.

How do I make this shiny and new again?

Novus Novus plastic polish, while expensive, has served me very well. I'm sure it could make that bin shine again.

    A spectacular sunset!

Very nice, Charles Here is a picture of the sunrise in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. I took this on the way to the Convention in Chicago this year.

    1963 Admiral Color TV Combo

Thanks for the replies everybody. John, the record player uses an Astatic 17D cartridge and an N41-SD needle. Dartman, he put in an RCA Hi-Lite tube out of a junk set. I've been informed that the needle itself might be just fine, but the cartridge is definitely bad.

    1963 Admiral Color TV Combo

I got this from a very good friend who also collects TV's yesterday. The TV and radio work wonderfully, the record changer works, (I'm listening to an ELO LP right now) but it needs a new needle badly. I brought this thing home yesterday after three months of waiting, and I couldn't be happier...

    World's Longest Yardsale finds

Just wow It's just my luck that I would leave the sale just before I got to a vac sale. Still a shame they all got rained on.

    World's Longest Yardsale finds

Yesterday, I shopped the World's Longest Yardsale. I started in Signal Mountain, TN, and ended in Crossville, TN. I got a 1982 Eureka ESP, and a Hoover 70, both in deplorable condition for a dollar each*. I also got an Aerus Electrolux caddy with a hose and Sidekick for $10*, a 175 watt mercury...

    My new Kirby D50

This is why I use Blue Magic I gave the D50 a quick and dirty polishing today. I did it by hand using Blue Magic. The stuff absolutely obliterates oxidation on Kirby's. It only took me about 30 minutes the do the D50 with paper towels and a rag.

    My new Kirby D50

Motor work I took the D50 apart today and cleaned it out. I repacked the bearings with white lithium grease, and boy does the motor purr. All I have to do now is polish it. Unfortunately, the glowing Kirby light melted slightly, and the word Kirby is obscured.

    Rainbow D3C

Nope The Rainbow has one long cord that goes from the machine all the way to the power nozzle. No pigtails.

    Rainbow D3C

Tape These have a problem with the plastic strip breaking off, and tape is the cheap solution. And you have to have the strip, or else it will expose a bunch of holes where air can get through.

    Rainbow D3C

I have one That I got at Jon's house during Convention. It's not usable right now, the fans are very dirty (so I've been told) so it vibrates horribly. On top of that, the PN motor quit. Now I have to fix that too.

    My new Kirby D50

Thanks, Michael I'll be sure to take plenty of before and after pictures for you. The light bulb was so old snd brittle that when I tried to take it out, it shattered. Luckily I did not get cut. That happened to me on an Electrolux Epic upright many years ago.
