    Another NOS Hoover

Where in God's green earth do they come up with the pricing on these things?!

I had enough with my Hoovers...

@luxlife Yes it is, and the app is absolutely worthless. If I remember right the only thing it let me do was shut off the vacuum and tell me how long I had been vacuuming. Also, it was the only way I could register the vacuum for its warranty.

I had enough with my Hoovers...

The thing that gets me... I bought the first React brand new (i'll throw in a picture to give an idea of what I am talking about) from a store that was going out of business. So needless to say I did not pay MSRP for it. If I remember right, MSRP for this machine when I got it was $250. The...

I had enough with my Hoovers...

Yeah I'm pretty disgusted with Hoover after those React's. Forgot to mention that on the second React, it had a bin leak too. The worst thing is the rest of the vacuum would still work after the FloorSense would go out, but the cheap electronics rendered the floor nozzle worthless and you of...

I had enough with my Hoovers...

About a year and a half ago I needed a cheaper vacuum to clean the apartment with. I bought a Hoover React lift away, and all was well for 9 months until the Floor Sense feature went out and took the floor nozzle with it. That was warrantied by Hoover with a brand new in the box React. Which...

    Anyone see this eBay Listing?

@Gottahaveahoover I believe someone did retract some bids. Bidding is now sitting at $540 with a day and 21 hours remaining.

    I did a thing earlier.

It certainly did get a workout, but whoever had it took decent care of it. It still runs good, and it has newer looking brush strips on the roller. The only downside is that someone didn't notice a tear in the paper bag and ran it like that for a while. So the bag had to get a good cleaning.

    I did a thing earlier.

So on a hunch, I decided to stop by my local Habitat ReStore. While there, I spotted this Convertible U4001 for $5. Of course, it followed me home.

    Anyone see this eBay Listing?

I was scrolling through eBay and saw this listing. Thought I would pass it along. https://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-Hoover-Convertible-upright-vacuum-cleaner-w-tools-in-original-boxes-NOS/233700255318?hash=item36699ee656:g:YvgAAOSwUS5fT7uz

What kinds of LED bulbs can I use with my vintage vacs?

I misspoke... It was a Meridian branded bulb. Here is a link to it. https://www.menards.com/main/electrical/light-bulbs/led-light-bulbs/meridian-25w-equivalent-ba15d-bright-white-led-light-bulb/13125/p-1479712833891-c-7482.htm

What kinds of LED bulbs can I use with my vintage vacs?

I have ran a LED bulb in a couple of Convertibles with no issue. I'll see if I can find the bulb on their web page. It's at Menards. It was a Feit Electric bayonet LED bulb. When installed, you couldn't tell the difference between a incandescent and the LED.

Does This Mean I’m Going To Vacuum Hell?

If it works and prolongs it's life, I see no issue with it. The Concept was always a great cleaner. One of my favorites.

Green Bison on eBay -- no bidders

It's surprising until you look a little further. At least on my end, it's saying $120 for the vacuum. Then the shipping costs an additional $140 on top of that. It's probably still a good deal either way for a Bison.

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

VacuumDevil... THANK YOU for the clarification! I had not heard about Electrolux themselves pulling out of the US vacuum market. I did not mean to infer that you said they (Aerus) was going out of business, but I thought I heard you say that they were on shakier ground, which would have been...

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

@kirbyg6 I think Kirby's biggest problem right now is ease of use with people who frequently use attachments. Even though it is an excellent deep cleaner, they are going to have to either deviate from the (now) 30 year old G series platform, or make an extensive modification to it.

my new finds, and yet another gay collector is there a link?

Well I have had dozens of vacuums over the years and had a small collection at one point. (I had to cut down due to room). And I am straight. So, if anyone is looking for the straight vacuum collector/enthusiast, here's one!

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

Some Thoughts... @dysonman Prior to watching the video, I haven't heard of Aerus struggling either. It was news to me. Glad to hear they are at least selling well for you. Between an Aerus and the trainwreck that is modern Tacony, I'll take the Aerus all day long. @rainbowd4c I completely...

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

Going off of Gregvacs's post... I got thinking about the smaller companies consolidating like Greg mentioned. After thinking about it, the only ones I can see staying around are Kirby and Aerus (and correct me if I am wrong, but does Aerus still own TriStar?) The others (Filter Queen, Rainbow...

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

RE: TTI Man, that is a plot twist I hadn't thought of. THAT would be interesting...and rather sad too.
