    My Heritage II facelift

So I cobbled together my Heritage 2 legend, I still have the OG bag setup for quick swapping, I was not expecting it to sound so much more powerful with still a stock plastic fan, brand new bag, might swap it for an orange shake out bag, as this is a tradition shake out bag, H1 emptor

    Old Kirby brushroll question

thanks that would make sense why my 519 wasn't picking up at all, as there was no brush at all protruding out

    MY NEW VINTAGE KIRBY WEBSITE!

Field baffle in Kirby 514 - how necessary is it?

you could prob use "wire harness cloth tape" possibly in this application, if its the same baffles im thinking of, there are several parts listed as baffles on motors, since you said coil, im guessing that stiff carboard like sleeve over one end of the coil

    Kirby 514 w/ 119078A 505-515 fan...

my 519 is actually using a modern fan as the metal fan that came with it was missing a good chunk of one of the finns, the machine works just as well, since a kit comes with all these extra washers I was able to make the modern plastic fan work on the machine really easy

    Old Kirby brushroll question

so I have three Kirbys in my collection, a 509, 519 and a Heritage II Legend, my question is how do I properly adjust the brush roll, eg how much brush should be sticking out of the nozzle if any? as the generation series onward use a 4 notch brushroller, older style had set screws

    Hotpoint Floor polisher

It does work, and the carbon brushes look to have lots of life left on them still, as does the armature doesn't seem to have a groove worn into it yet, my grandparents had a similar shaped one but I think it was the GE salmon colored unit, odds are the GE instructions would be the same as the...

    Hotpoint Floor polisher

So at a local thrift store I scored this little guy, it does work, ive popped the hood off and used the kirby to get all the dust bunnies, there oddly is no plate on this one showing its serial/ date made, biggest question, how does one use one of these old things? also the cord is starting to...

    My Kirby 509

After a month of waiting for the new cord and bag, its all here and now my 509 is rocking that factory rebuild look unoffically (still needs a polish) maybe I kinda like the weathered look on it, I also realized this Kirby handle is so old it predates the hook you can turn to take all the cord...

    My Kirby 509

black bag and cord are ordered, I wont get rid of the white cord or bag, also have a spare 40w incandescent in the machine, and a rainbow belt for now as more soft style belts are on the way as well,

    My Kirby 509

main reason was heat, but also the fact I can't just go to a store and buy incandescent bulbs anymore since they where phased out, which is why I tried the warm white sewing machine replacements

    My Kirby 509

I'll give those a try, the last ones I used looked similar but for some odd reason the bridge rectifiers on them gave out, I dont know if I got bad bulbs or what

    My Kirby 509

also if anyone has any suggestions for LED replacement headlight for the 500 series, ive tried two different types for this and both have burnt out over a process of a minute or less, they are stated to be 120v but all 3 lamps ive tried have failed

    My Kirby 509

after adjusting the brushroll and putting on a rather well used soft rubber belt the machine cleans well, can you still get the soft rubber belts for the pre-generational Kirbys ? ive been using a knurled type on my Heritage 2 without hassle yet, but ive heard from several sources id want the...

headlight cap black trim for a KIRBY 2C

Dumb question is this the same size as the 500 series headlight trim?

    My Kirby 519

I mean it works fine as long as the switch is bypassed, the switch reads open no matter what, the brushes on this machine are fine, the commutator on the armature however looks like the the one in the attached image, so I don't know how much life this 519 has left on it, this is just a reference...

    My Kirby 519

that's what I mean even with the nozzle on it wouldn't turn on, bypassed it and it worked, I know I can get a replacement for it

    My Kirby 519

New non dimmable LED installed, warm white to mimic the original bulb, and plastic fan I know heresy but hey it works, the machine for only having two rows of brushes on the brushroll being this era, picks up surprisingly well, when i got this machine I did have to bypass the safety switch, as...
