In the process of a restoration. Thought perhaps some may enjoy seeing what can be done with these old machines. This is the first time I have had to do metal work that doesn't get covered with paint, so it had to be perfect. This vacuum hood had several pings and dents in it, as well as being...

Hoover 62 got its first coat of paint today.

LUV the smell of fresh paint in the morning!!! ..."smells like VICTORY!" Jim - nice color selection - and who knows, having been built in the late eighteen hundreds....maybe the old paint on that machine had faded just a bit and now yours matches closer than you might know. Keep us posted on...

will the real electrolux please stand up !

Here's the cover of the Electrolux News from 09/1975 with President Charlie McKee holding the first Super J off the assembly line! I've had this Newsletter since 1977 and I dug it out of the dumpster behind my local Electrolux branch - so it's not in the best shape, but it's all there....

Nice machine Dan, and great story behind it. You even got the rug washer which was still a floor polisher/buffer at the time. Congratulations. Rick

    G.E. swivel top ques.

This is very interesting, and may be another example of a manufacturer offering what was available to them at the time of production. Perhaps it was a more cost effective deal from a supplier, or a purchase of unused stock. This conversation has come up before with other brands. Don't most...

    Electrolux Handheld?

I think these were sold at the branches and if I'm not mistaken they were offered as a bonus when Electrolux did a one-time Infomercial deal with the Renaissance. It's been a while since I've watched the commercial I might be mistaken.

"R"4 This was having "created and shaped" a new bag bulkhead and chamber support out of PC7 Epoxy, a lot of sanding, and luck. I can't find the rest of the pictures of the bag chamber re-do. But you can get the idea.

When I built my "R", at least I was able to get the bag chamber in straight...It's from a model "E". Construction pics to follow this one.

    Electrolux Model S on eBay

Thought you might like to see another "whoops" that missed the inspectors with this "S" of mine. Notice how the bag chamber is slightly skewed toward the right? Mine had a little rust in it just like yours does. Any moisture picked up from vacuuming a carpet next to a door in the winter with...

    Electrolux Model S on eBay

"R" bag cover...it has an added "dimple to match the trim piece. You would think having done that, Lux would have only put ONE on the cover so we would know which way THEY wanted the cover to go! With the decorative lines tapering toward the top or to the bottom? I bet the designers were having...
