    Good and bad Electrolux Motors?

    1) No problem for the information on the replacement dust brush rings. I'm unsure if Aerus still carries them--it's possible, because it still sells the exact combination tool (minus the logo)--but I've seen them on eBay and on different vacuum parts websites before. Here's one, but you'll...

Electrolux Generic vs OEM hoses question

You could order one from aerushome.com, and they'd charge you shipping/handling. It's possible, too, that the Aerus store 60 miles away from you would have a service/sales rep. delivery it to you. However, you may need to agree to a sales demo.

Electrolux Super J: Tightening a Loose Bag Door?

SJ, 1) The "elbow adapter" of your combination rug/floor tool is called the "swivel connector". If you want to maintain originality as much as possible along with being green, just look for a replacement of that--not the entire tool. To separate the two, just depress the metal tabs. I also...

    Good and bad Electrolux Motors?

    I found a photo of a 50th Jubilee postcard which shows a black/black bumper logo; also photos posted by compactelectra of his Super J with black/black and a 1977 Super J manual cover which suggests gold/black (albeit it's in b & w). My 1976 SJ manual shows black/black, a white hose & PN-2, a...

    AB Electrolux, Lux International Vid

@electromatik ... You misunderstood the information I relayed. I'd read that in 1928, or around that time, AB Electrolux sold many of its shares in its US subdivision--not that they became independent of one another. I speculate that doing so would have allowed AB E to expand its refrigeration...

Upright Electrolux models better than the cheap cleaners from Walmart

Thanks, Andy. I do think Tom makes a valid point that Lux uprights are not sealed and will therefore always leak some dust particles through their edges and openings. Other brands that are sealed and have height adjusters for deeper cleaning would outperform Aerus (Electrolux) cleaners based on...

    Good and bad Electrolux Motors?

Thanks--it's possible that the later Super Js bumpers were originally inked completely in black just like the later Olympia Ones; although now I wonder if the border on those was dark brown that faded to black--haha. I checked some of the eBay Super J listings all of which had faded or were too...

    Good and bad Electrolux Motors?

50th Jubilee Model Correction ... The 50th Jubilee model identification on the inside of the bag door is '1205'; albeit the owner's manual makes no reference to a numerical model. The '1210' may have been used in service manuals, although someone else mentioned that he'd seen '1205J'.

    Good and bad Electrolux Motors?

I'm going by personal observations ... the 1205s I've seen on eBay and one I've seen in person with the black control panel (1968 iteration) have had black letters and red border bumper logos. I've also seen several 50th Jubilee and Super J bumper logos with the gold borders and black letters...

    AB Electrolux, Lux International Vid

Good conversation--thanks. The history lesson was accurate but omitted the facts that AB Electrolux had sold a majority of its shares in the US subsidiary around 1928 (source: AB Electrolux) which further explains why styling was so different between the two entities beginning with the Model...

Upright Electrolux models better than the cheap cleaners from Walmart

I agree that Aerus (Electrolux) cleaners aren't known for their deep cleaning but rather for their sturdiness and reliability along with good customer service. With that said here's the best way to DEEP clean carpets without the need to rely on deep cleaning but cheaply constructed cleaners...

    Good and bad Electrolux Motors?

Just to point out--in case you hadn't noticed--the bumper logos on the 50th Jubilee 1205 and the Super J 1401 had black lettering with a gold border; just as the teal 1205 had black lettering with a red border. Both were black on the Olympia One 1401, 1401-B, & 1505 and the Silverado 1505. Some...

    AB Electrolux, Lux International Vid

In case you aren't a Youtuber or haven't checked out this vid, it's a nice timeline of AB Electrolux (1919-1998) and Lux International (1912-1919; 1998-present) "firsts": 1912 - Lux I: first electric household vac with blower 1921 - Lux V: first vac with sleds 1922 - Lux VII: first handheld...

    Prolux Plus (Electrolux USA)

Interesting. Most of the Aerus (Electrolux) uprights I've seen on eBay and elsewhere do not have the after-filters. The gray Epic 3500 SR (U110B) and gray Epic 2500 SR (U112B) were sold from 1995-97, so they've been an option for around 20 years; guessing anyway that they weren't standard...

    Prolux Plus (Electrolux USA)

No problem. Thanks for the link. Please post your pics on this thread, including one that shows the after filter--I didn't realize that any of the Prolux-series had them. Does it slide or snap in place?

    $10 Diamond Jubilee at Goodwill

Good bargain--good for you! It's an early version with the sand-colored PN5 (the first PN5 had a black hood to complement the Silverado and gray Deluxe Special). The later version of the DJ had the dark green- (jade-colored) PN6. The late Silverados and DJ did have a different motor than the...

    Prolux Plus (Electrolux USA)

This is a continuation on another thread that had a different topic. Panisonicvac, You will find your cleaner's serial ID decal under the handle. If you provide Aerus with the info., they may be able to give you the model since your name plate stamp has been worn off. Here is a list of...

    Electrolux Genesis LX

Thanks for the photos. Looks like it's in pretty good shape--especially at such a great sales price. Since this is a thread for the Genesis series, I am going to start a new vintage thread to continue our discussion.
