Hello A friend recently gave me his mothers Hoover Model 29, all orginal. I had to replace the power cord as it was not safe. But there is one problem......the retaining clip on the left end of the agitator....... does not stay tight.......comes loose when u try to vacuum with it and drags on...

These vacs had great suction, but that was part of their problems. So much suction that they tended to clamp down to the floor and because the handle fork was all plastic they would very easily snap. They did clean very well if u were careful with them.
