    Oreck Upright

You're right, it looks very much like the machine Clarke and some of the other pro equipment companies sold some time back. If I recall correctly, they're Italian-made (early Lindhaus, maybe?)

A new idea for those old vacuums...

Paging Rocketwarrior ... Mark, I think we could use a prototype here. Interested?

A new idea for those old vacuums...

I like it! With all the other attachments Kirby's come up with, why not a lamp kit? The headlight on the floor could be kinda neat, like in a theater. Others have interesting possibilities too. The Electrolux LX lamp could throw its burned-out bulb across the room. The Air-Way lamp would have...

That new Kirby shine -- what's the secret?

Great suggestions all Thanks for all the tips. I'm looking forward to trying them out to see how my 519 shines up. I haven't managed to find a Handi-Butler yet, but I'm keeping my eyes open. Charles-Richard, I'd love to see that article detailing the procedure you use. It would be a great...

What is the quietest vacuum cleaner of all time, and what is the noisiest? "Discuss."

Bison ... gets my vote for the loudest. Don't know about the Centurion, but the Mark I and Mark II can scream with the best of 'em. But the rheostat control makes it fun. Start on low, then ramp up, and your neighbors will swear there's a 707 taking off. As for the Kirbys, no, they're not the...

    First Lux Upright? Newbie Question

Not quite. The tools don't attach under the brush, but there's a plastic plate to keep the spinning brush from damaging the carpet. To attach the hose, you flip open the bag compartment and latch on a converter piece that then takes the standard Lux old-style hose.

    First Lux Upright? Newbie Question

Hi guys, greetings from the ancestral home of the mighty Bison! Longtime lurker from AW.org, and way before that on the original VacWeb forum, deciding to join the fun. I'm curious about an Electrolux upright I found recently. It's an old model, billed as a "heavy duty" automatic upright...
