    Selling some newer vacuums

I just can't get past the spewing of dogma and regurgitation of the advert from the telly last night. Not one bit of actual experience but one hell of a lot of opinion. "I saw it on the interwebs, it's TRUE I tell you, it's TRUE" Just makes me chuckle because I'm old enough to know what is going...

    Early Singer Models

Those early Singers are on my list of vacuums to keep my eyes open for.

    Selling some newer vacuums

Oh, never mind. You're 15... that explains everything. You've experienced nothing and know everything. Ah, how I remember those heady days....now, I've experienced a great deal and realize I know jack about most things and a bit about a lot and a lot about very little.

    Selling some newer vacuums

Hmmm.. my mom has a Simplicity Synchrony upright and other than the tiny toy tools, it works great at cleaning carpet. And talking smack about the vacuums you ask too much money for isn't good business. If they are crap, why did you acquire it?

you could give an old man a heart attack yanking like that.

    Tour and a Kirby

Model and other information is generally on a metal ratings plate riveted to the bottom of the case under the motor.   Sucks that you washed that bag..... 3/4 of the value was in that bag, maybe more.

    Latest Acquisitions.....

You never know what you'll find inside that rusty tank. I seen worse, but since it wasn't standing in water, the motor only had some very minor surface rust, and I've seen more than a few that looked great on the outside, but someone used them to suck up a few cups of a liquid of your choice and...

    A strange one- Vortech Force...

Bison was a good enough vacuum, when it worked. They have a reputation for being, much like an 80's Jaguar, in the shop more than on the road. Their sales practices most certainly were a contributor to their short run, but reliability, or lack thereof, was a much larger one. They are desirable...

    Latest Acquisitions.....

That's a PN1 not a PN2. Nice additions to your collection. I'm lucky if I can get a vac shop to consider selling me an old Lux...

Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup issue - Hoover's response

As a matter of fact, I've owned several Dyson's to my never ending shame. None of them has survived even the warranty period without repairs. If given one, I'd eBay it NIB immediately. I have no interest in lining the pockets of James Dyson. I've fought and fought with Dyson over their shoddy...

Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup issue - Hoover's response

Firstly, Windsor bags are easy to get and relatively cheap. Dyson is NOT a high end vacuum, it's a trendy, flashy, good performer with a HUGE advertising budget. They don't clean all that well, they are noisy and they do break, might not be the dust bin, but the handle, hoses and other parts...

Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup issue - Hoover's response

Niclolnnic, you completely miss the point. It's a bottom tier vacuum, it's cheaply made and you banged it to get it clean. You broke your cheaply made vacuum, oh well. What, if anything, did you expect Hoover/TTI to do about it? I don't know about your instruction manual, but mine says not to...

    Kenmore canister with power-mate compact

you can usually find the model buy just entering the 116.XXXXX the last digits are for variations within a range on older models. I've found many a Kenmore part that way.

    East Coast Oreck Restoration Facility

Frankly, I think it looks pretty good. It's just dirt, it's not beat to death and should clean up nicely and give years of service.

Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup issue - Hoover's response

What were you expecting? You paid very little for the vacuum, the warranty doesn't cover wear and tear, and just because it broke doesn't make it a defect. It may be a design flaw, but again, what do you expect for a cheap vacuum? I have a Hoover Windtunnel Platinum bagless with exactly the same...

They aren't particularly rare at all. I can still sell you one. There is a portion of a case in the office.

    Sanitaire Contractor Series Score!

Sears Holdings isn't doing well because they never really changed anything. All this motion, but at the heart of it all, it's the same merchandise that nobody was buying before. And they have discontinued so many products that they were the go-to place for. They should have aimed at being a...

    Prefect hepa bags

Even out here in the desert, where we have talcum powder dust, suction doesn't drop off until about 95% full, and even then the drop is modest. The 4 ply Aerus bags drop off at about 70%, and the enviro-care micro lined bags just slightly worse and both are very noticeable and performance...
