Electrolux Model B-8 (& Others) Tips

The current floor pro is sold as a shampooer, however there are scrubbing brushes, scrubbing pads and polishing pads sold to add to the machine.

New old stock. Eureka and Hoover bagged vacs (late 90s early 2000s)

I tip my hat Man114. Not my cuppa, a bit too 'fresh' for my collection, but sure is nice to see someone not trying to take advantage of a situation for personal gain. Kudos man.

I'm HEEEEEERE again, in the Holy Land!

Phone numbers of business that have web presences are already public... what harm is there in posting a number that is already all over the internet?

    A little Kenmore Evolution

Jaker15,   It's definitely a show piece. I'd get it as nice as possible without bojacking it completely and use it only sporadically just to keep the bearings and everything else turning as it should.

Now there's a Kenmore worth owning.

    A little Kenmore Evolution

Kenmore saves nothing... Kenmore doesn't make anything. All Kenmore products are made by other companies, and unlike in the distant past, Sears has almost no influence over basics of design, they do specify features, but it's up to the manufacturers to implement them. All Kenmore labeled...

Look at this ad for a Riccar canister

Riccar/Simplicity are assembled in the USA now, this was not always the case. Uprights have been assembled here longer and canisters more recently. You will find older models made in South Korea and accessories made in China. Even today, they are assembled in the USA of 'globally sourced' parts.

Finaly My Moms first vacuum I was given one,

Moulinex is a French manufacturer of small appliances. They are very much still around.  They are sold around the world, except in the US where they sell appliances under the Krups brand.

The Summer of Electroluv: First Dirt

Phil,   Did you install the new brushroll or are you still using the old one? The wires aren't as fragile as you think. As long as they are properly routed they won't get cut. I've been using my Legacy for almost 10 years and there is zero damage to the wires in the swivel.

Which Hoover would you have picked?

The red for me. I'm not a collector of uprights, and the combination of low miles, higher amp motor and clean bag chamber sounds good.... and I don't currently own any red vacuums.... completely arbitrary choice as I know nothing about any of them....

Wasn't there supposed to be a new Kirby for the centennial?

If dry foam is making your carpet sticky, you're using either the wrong product, or way, way too much of it.

Electrolux Model L vac, how to remove hose?

love my vintage Electrolux vacuums. All of them are stellar performers with great suction/airflow and very, very quiet. My XXX's are still used for hard floors and above the floor cleaning, and later models with power nozzles are my daily drivers.

    The Summer of Electroluv

Oh ye of little faith. The PN swivel neck likely has a broken wire, or did you press the reset button? Unlike your (okay, tongue in cheek heavy sarcasm coming) cheap ass Cen-tec PN's the Lux will actually trip the breaker rather than snap a belt.  Yes you can bend the contacts a bit further...
