The cord The cord is identical to the ones I've seen on Dial-a-Matics, but Electrolux would also work. I gave the base a fresh coat (nothing worse than a shiny spot) Would a Kirby or Hoover commercial outer bag work as a stopgap?

I just bought my first prewar vacuum--a Hoover Model 26, in a thrift shop in Kelso, WA for $15! It appears to have a later bag (with a Hoover paper bag) on it, from I'd guess around 1980-90. The cord appears to be one from a Dial-a-Matic. I'm curious what an original bag would look like, and...
