    My Eureka Model Data Thread

Western Auto Catalog? Would you be able to post that page? It may help a lot. My current theory is that "E" indicates round handle

    Replica bag question?

Out of curiosity, is there anyone on here who could make replicas of this style of Eureka outer bag in fabric? (Hoping for two Lagoon Blue, for my 260 and 2070A, and one charcoal gray for my 238)

    Weird Hoover 425 question

My Hoover 325 was rebuilt in 1950. Its handle has what appears to be a cellophane coating, in a slightly duller color. Its body seems to have a hammertone silver finish. Did dealers ever make older Hoovers duller?

    My Eureka Model Data Thread

Is it a safe assumption that the 260-C is defined by the change from a square handle to a round one?

    My Eureka Model Data Thread

Hi, Patrick 1. I would love the serial number of your 238, and the letter of it--I think you just gave me a data point! (Thanks!) 2. In terms of the 260D, I'm wondering if either (a) you have a machine with a replacement handle, or (b) if those changes became the 260E.

    My Eureka Model Data Thread

I didn't know there was a 239 Patrick, I didn't know they made a 239. Can you post the serial number? Based on my data for the 238, a manufacturing date of 1972 would be likely.

    My Eureka Model Data Thread

I don't know when the handle changed from square to round. Yours looks all-original, so I'm guessing it is. I think it's a case where all models with K are chrome, but not all chrome ones are K models?

    Hoover 425 questions?

Motor Hood Also, does the 425 have the Hoover "Servant for the Home" emblem on it? The paint seems to be flaking only on the area where that would be.

    Hoover 425 questions?

I would love to see the wide range of replacement bags for the Hoover 425, as well as the original one(s). Thanks! Nick

    Hoover 425 questions?

Hi! I just got a Hoover 425, and it is wonderful! I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how shiny this Hoover is supposed to be. This is a replacement bag for the 1950 replacement (it was last rebuilt in March 1950). It has the original attachments in the box. Does anyone have an instruction...

    Eureka 238D/Decal source

It looks like the 238B still had a hose port It looks like the 238B had the hose port. This is like the bag that my Eureka 238D had when I bought it...which was beyond restoration. https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREADM.cgi?44202

Thanks Paul! Thank you! I'm hoping anyone with any data points can add them to this thread, especially those that can expand information on manufacturing date and model variations. (I'm trying to make heads/tails on each letter suffix) Thanks! Nick

    Eureka serial number data questions

Hi! I have several questions about Eureka serial numbers. My goal is to help create a way for collectors to easily date their Eureka vacuum, in the same way collectors in the typewriter hobby are able to. (I helped decipher serial number ranges for Smith-Corona portable typewriters made between...

    My Eureka Model Data Thread

Paul Paul, Thank you very much! My goal is to help sort out the various letters by year. Because there seems to be no serial number data available for Eureka uprights after 1947, my biggest goal is to make it possible for a person to date their Eureka without having to rely on the nipple from...
