Are Stan's Ohios safe in your collection? I love the YouTube video where he demonstrated them. A shame they stopped making uprights right around the Great Depression.
Well what do you know? The minions at TTI have unveiled a Hoovreck! Does it come with a 21 year warranty with free annual tune-ups? Really sad to see this is what has become of the Oreck XL21. I saw a blue Royal not too long ago that was a carbon copy of an Oreck. I think Royal is just...
Perfect C101
I miss the Perfect C101 all-metal version. It's basically the same as the C103 just hammertone steel. I know they cost a bit more, but they were definitely more solid. Did they not sell well? I actually traded a Silverado to get one.
I too like the Slimlines. Years ago, Slimlines seemed to be everywhere, today they seem to be the rarest of the J bag style Hoover canisters. They were Hoover's value priced canister, and with their all steel construction they were definitely solidly built.
Not at all, but this sick junky gets off on wanton wasting perfectly good household appliances. He's destroyed Kirbys and an Electrolux Golden Jubilee by vacuuming in the snow. Someone should bludgeon him to death with a golf club....
The Hoover 28 will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the FIRST vintage vacuum in my collection. I got it at a yard sale in 1989 for $8.00. It had the original bag (which I later replaced because it had holes by the two mounting bolts - I put on a matching Dust Care cloth...
I usually don't use car wash vacs, but about 8 or 9 years ago, I had a leak in the back of my car every time it rained heavy. My back carpets were SOAKED and you could see the water sloshing around. VW couldn't figure out why my convertible top was leaking so until the problem was fixed I used...
Indeed it was. Oreck began making the machines "in house" starting in 1997 when they bought the old Regina plant in Biloxi, Mississippi. The XL-4000's were made by MacDonald electric in West Germany.
If I was ever lucky enough to own a bag cleaner I would install an ever-clean zippered bag so it could take disposable bags, being upside down a Hoover type C bag could really be top fill!
Well, it also has to do with build quality. Shetland from what I've heard used PLASTIC suction fans, and alot of companies cheaped out using sleeve bearings versus ball bearings. I would love to add a nice Kenmore Duo-Power upright to go with my Dial-A-Matic collection but they're rarer than...
I remember several different shops as a kid. I was always drawn to the refurbished Kirby 500 series machines, buffed so shiny they looked like mirrors - done up usually in Tradition blue trim (sometimes red) and wrapped in a clear plastic bag to keep the shine.
My ONLY encounter with an...
That is a neat find! Maybe the janitor could find you one tucked away that the church no longer uses. That would be a nice piece in any bathroom. I wouldn't mind having one of those "endless towels" (the rolling cloth towel that rolls back into a metal box that gets chemically treated). I...
