    Spots on carpeting

What you have is residue from the Woolite causing resoiling of the carpet- The soap isn't completely rinsing out, causing dirt to stick to those areas. Woolite is nasty stuff. I don't use it. Vinegar and hot water would be an excellent idea- go over it until you can't see any traces of soap or...

I can't believe how people treat their vacuums

I just picked up a 7 year old Kirby Sentria, which I couldn't get to run at all, but had a broken fan, cord hook broken off, bag from a G5, nozzle bent (yes, bent!), bottom plate missing, and no paper bag, the cloth bag was filled completely. Ended up becoming parts to get a G4 running.

    Kirby Sentria parts needed

Just the front fan case? Yes I do, it is pretty dirty and tarnished but I will at least clean it up.

    Kirby Sentria parts needed

Ok, I have decided the Sentria is a lost cause. I do believe it is going to have a second life as a G4, I can get the parts that I need from the Sentria to get the G4 working. So I think all I need is a G3 emtor (for another project) So sad that a $1000+ vacuum that is only 7 years old is not...

    Kirby Sentria parts needed

Looking to buy some Kirby Sentria parts. I need a complete bag and Emptor assembly, Upper cord hook, screw and spring, and most likely a Brushroll. I do have a G4 that will likely become parts, so if anyone is wanting to trade for anything, I may have it. I also have a G5 bag (bag and topper...

    Cars!

Over the last couple years I've been extremely happy with my 2003 Impala, but I have decided I won't ever be buying a 2015 Impala. We rented one Friday for a trip to Rhode Island (My Dad is getting a truck from my Brother and we are driving that back), and I truly hated it. Extremely...

Vintage F and G Eureka find

So Glad you got it! I saw that on Craigslist, but I was just too far and too short on funds.

Looks like a quick way to get killed if nothing else.

    Cars!

I have had several cars over the years, the majority of them being GM, and those have been the most reliable. My first car, back in about 2008, was a 1987 Dodge Caravan. That was pretty much my training wheels for a real car, I loved it but it needed lots of work. I had it a year almost to the...

    Seeking a Hoover...probably!!

I recommend the Hoover Windtunnel Supreme bagged- Excellent cleaning, not too heavy, headlight, attachments on board, 15" nozzle with edge brushes, good filtration if you use Hepa bags. Listed on Hoover's website for $109.99, but I would imagine they can be found new or used on ebay for less.

In the market for a new Hoover shampooer

As stated above^^^ The Bissell Proheats do like to clog their spray nozzles, but on the Proheat 2x, they are very easily accessed, no tools necessary. That was the issue with mine when I bought it, but I got it for 50% off on black friday, plus another 25% in store credit, which came out to...

    "Smelly-Goods"

My all time favorite scent so far, and one I have gotten tons of complements on is Aeropostale's Benton. It is fresh, but not terribly strong; I can go from just a spritz to drenching myself in it, and it smells nice either way, and never overpowering. I also like Axe Dark Temptation, but...

In the market for a new Hoover shampooer

I have always had Hoover Steamvacs, but recently bought a Bissell Proheat 2x at a resale shop, and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. Excellent cleaning with very aggressive brushes, and very hot water. I do have to give credit to Hoover for extraction though, the Bissell lacks a bit in that...

    TTI and Oreck

As has been mentioned before, a frequently used Oreck- Any oreck- removes more dirt than the latest Dyson, Hoover, or Kirby that is only used once a month because it is to heavy or hard for the owner to push. No, the former machine isn't the most poweful, but it picks up the dirt before it can...

Making your own Vacuum Cleaner bags

I once bought a Hoover Convertible at a garage sale that had a plastic trash bag in place of a C bag....

    Commercial Uprights

Windsor Versamatic. Heavy, yes, but oh so quiet, and a foolproof super sucker. That or a Sanitaire 7 amp with vibragroomer 2. I would say my first choice would be the Windsor because of the attached hose. One of my favorite vacuums to use.

    New Member and Another Find

Those versions of Panasonic Uprights are simple powerhouses, and near bullet proof. I have never seen one with any more than a broken belt or worn brush strips.

I used an Oreck XL for the first time!

I've used several, and to be honest, don't think I would buy another one. I've owned 2, one older model, and one from about 1997 or so. I sold both fairly quickly. Yes, they are very lightweight, but I haven't been impressed with the cleaning performance (except on flat pile carpet), and the...
