Anyone else have one of these?

I must have just gotten lucky... They obviously stopped making them for some reason. I think the idea was just that, an idea that kinda fizzled out and probably didn't sale well due to the hefty price tag these had. I do see how these could have several clogs that could be hard to find. I...

Latest find- Hoover Widepath model U5243-960

Nice Vac! I like that color and the fact is has the little filter cassette that can be washed. Why you getting rid of it?

Is an elite supposed to sound like this?

Not the typical sound of that model Hoover. I own numerous Hoovers with both 7amp and 12amp motors similar to that and none of them sound like that. The 12amp is a little louder than the 7, but that sounds like you may have a problem with your fan.

Latest find- Hoover Widepath model U5243-960

While digging through the trade in room at my local Rainbow Dealer I stumbled upon this very unique Hoover Widepath. I have seen these machines in several different colors but never one this color blue and this one was actually made in the USA unlike most machines nowdays. It was in very good...

Awesome Find- Thanks to my local Kirby Dealer.

Very true... I used to sale Rainbows and some of the people in the business were complete crooks! However when saleing Rainbows, I was always saleing a product that I truly believed in. Rainbow was not door to door so I enjoyed it more because I could generate my own sales, most of my...

    I Finally Got an Elite!

If I remember correctly The first 4 digits of the serial number is gonna be the month and the year the vac was made. So the Elite would have been made in March 2002 and the Windtunnel in August 2002. Several of my Hoovers have came from thrift stores but I don't see them that often either and...

Anyone else have one of these?

I bought this at Goodwill years ago for $8 and it has been through three families (I loaned it to them and had to pretty much steal it back lol) and was heavily used and abused by all. While going through my piles of vacuums months ago I decided to donate it to the car lot I work for part...

Awesome Find- Thanks to my local Kirby Dealer.

I have dogs as well... So I vacuum everyday sometimes multiple times a day. If I don't use a rainbow, I use a Eureka 1934b. It works beautifully on my shag rugs and is a light weight reliable vacuum and cleans up pet hair way better than my Dyson Ball Animal, but I prefer the old style design...

Awesome Find- Thanks to my local Kirby Dealer.

They really are great folks... Since I stop by their office at least once a week, they never sale me a vacuum over $25 this includes several Electrolux canisters and my almost new "perfect" canister with all bags and attachments, my Sanitare, Ocean Blue and many more. They no I am a collector...

Awesome Find- Thanks to my local Kirby Dealer.

Thanks so much These are truly one of my favorite vacuums and I spent most of my childhood using them. My grandma and I both sold rainbows at one point as well. This one will sure get much use!

Awesome find- Thanks to my local Kirby dealer.

Very true... I can't seem to understand why someone would do this unless they are just to lazy to use it. This one must have been kept in a closet and lightly used. I have worked on several of these machines and they usually always have bad lower bearings and the separator and nut would be...

    Best Trashfind Ever

Thanks for all the info everyone! I actually used the machine last night in my kitchen to clean some area rugs and was very surprised. It truly is a solid well made machine. So sad nothing is made this way with most vacs today. I also love the handle, it reminds me of a convertible which was...

    Best Trashfind Ever

Found this today on my way home from work sitting next to a recycle bin. I didn't do a single to thing to it. Brought it home plugged it in and it works great. I love the way it looks. It was clean as a pin and they still sell bags for it. Hoover type G. Anyone know about when this machine was made?

    My Collection (part 1)

Durango159 I got to watch your video today, love that color of your Hoover Spectrum! Also glad to know that the powerhead is indeed a lil noisy on someone else's machine. It had me worried for the longest time with mine cause this is the first one I have owned, but always seemed to be in...
