You can't pinpoint the exact year on the older Hoovers from just the serial numbers, unfortunately.
However, one of our Hoover experts could probably give you an approximation.
Try to modify it and put the spring assembly from the Generation 3 into the Sentria II, but beware that the SEII tranny is a bit slower running than the G3's. You might just want to try and swap the whole transmission!
No. You won't need a new sani emp-tor. You'll need to remove the dark blue plastic adapter (that the fill hose connects to) by prying out with a screwdriver.
No, the earlier Traditions (1979-mid 1980) had the SRV, whereas the mid 1980-1981 machines didn't.
My Tradition (F531996, approx. November 1979) has the vent.
Alex, I bet Ben just guessed. The safety switches usually start with "1343" and the last two digits are either the year the machine was made, or in some cases the year before it started production. In your case, 134379 means 1979.
This formula applies for a lot of Kirby part numbers.
But wait, if the serial number makes it 1975, then how come it has the pinstriped bag? Wouldn't it have the diamond-backed bag?
The pinstriped was used on 1973 models, wasn't it?
Somebody definitely re-etched an earlier serial number onto that machine. Look how "shaved" it looks and how "sloppy" the letters are placed. It may be new old stock, but definitely not originally an F serial number.
Anybody need parts off a Sebo Automatic X4? I have everything except the automatic height adjuster motor unit.
Let me know what you want (if you want anything, that is) :)
