I'm not sure on the year but the armature was stamped 9-23. I don't know if that's a date or not. I can find no old ads about this model, I've been stumped for a long time on its history.

So I've been on a Premier kick lately and I'm really interested in picking up one of the wide mouth Premier Duplex Master models, and maybe a Duplex parts machine.

I hadn't thought of seeking out a GE of the same era, good idea! I know i've seen somewhere a GE machine that looked like the 37 (Model AV-1)?. I inspected the armature and saw no broken wires but several that had lost their black coating.

Over the years I managed to get two different part donor premier's, a much older Duplex and a 'newer' duplex and surprisingly neither of them would work. The armature was the same but the length and assembly of the belt pulleys varied too greatly. I guess they changed up the design of them...

I love the Birtman machines, I have a few of them. Among them is a Magnetic, I would love to be able to match it with the Magnetic handvac.

If you unscrew that cap and it just an empty tube underneath it leads to the bearing material. Some machine have the oil and spring setup but that one doesn't appear that it would, at least my Electro Hygiene doesn't. Just add a few drop down it slowly.

There cool little machines, made under a few different names. I have one made by OK Machine in Fort Wayne, IN with the original screw in plug. Its an absolute pain to find a belt small enough to drive the little brush roll. Not powerful but neat little things!

The bristles flip back and forth rapidly to flick debris into the front or rear collection pan. I got to try one a long time ago, it didn't work very well, certainly not as well as a carpet sweeper.

I have a variety for my usual cleaning as well. A Hoover Concept 2 Electronic manages the den, a Royal 888 in the living room, a Hoover 700 for the Dining Room, another Concept for all upstairs. A Royal 501 hand vac does the stairs, couches, etc. My Airway 88 handles all the bare floors, or...
